so i ordered some slotted and drilled rotors and brake pads like 5 days ago. so they show up yesturday when i was at work. so i first open the pads and they were not packaged they way they should have been and where out of the original box and floting around in the other box. second off they sent me 2 right side rotors. so all is good i call them to get it taken care of and they said no problem. send pics of them so that way the guy can look at them. when i get a call back he said ok send those back with the shipping lable in your email and when we recieve them ill send some more out. so now the question is are they going to take care of me (NOPE) i asked for them to ship them over night to me because of there mistake and my car is riped apart and they said no way that i will be 3-4 days there and 3-4 back to me. this is bull&*#. so all im saying is if you order from them be aware that they will not do anything beyond what you paid for and thats not cool at all. well just thought i would share this with you guys and to just wach out for these people.
jeeeeese. talk to chris he should be able to straighten this out for you - you ordered a product from them, they send you wrong product. they should do whatever they can to make it right. If they DONT right this wrong i would be very surprised as im sure the majority of people who order from them are on a forum.

ECS= No Consistency. I've placed 2 orders with them in the past.. The first order was all over the place (wrong stuff, things I didn't order), and i had to pay for the return shipping, and a restock fee!! I took a chance the second time with some fluids and the sirius sale, and was relieved to see that it all came as ordered. This company definitely needs to revamp their customer service and the management to get on top of the slackers filling the boxes.
Call them back, be firm and be polite - do not lose your cool. Work you way up the chain of command. Your alternatives are: 1. Ask if you can re-order and ship today and have your credit card refunded when they get the old package back. 2. Order somewhere else and call your credit card company and tell them the ECS charge is on hold for wrong shipment and that they will not assist in making it right. Post the good or bad news here because ECS has to understand the concept of consequences.
Hapenned the same thing to me today. I recieved the rotors and pads 2 weeks ago , take the day to change those front and rear brakes and boom ... they shipped me vw mk4 rotors for the rear wich is 5x100 and 9 inch instead of 9.6 . I'm in canada so how much time it will take to have my good ones at home ? 2 , 3 weeks ? It just sucks that I need to ship everything back and pay and they reimbourse me after. THey will for sure not take care of all my time I took for this mistake but whatever i guess i'll order somewhere else next time !!
ECS ought to own up here and make this right. Send out his stuff asap w/overnight, and throw in a free Audi T-shirt or hat or something for his trouble. Or give him a gift certificate.
It doesn't take much to make a mistake into a life-long customer. Next day rush shipping and some free swag would have made this thread title into "ECS is the greatest".
Agreed. Even if it costs the company a little more, good customer service will make the customer want to come back and spend thousands more with you over the years
Chris! Pete! Anyone else @ECS! Whats going on here?!

i ordered from them twice. First time was good. Got my items just fine.
second time was the last time. They sent me the wrong box of items. My name and address was on the box but the stuffs and the invoice was for another person in another town. Well at least they got the country and the province right lol.
Tried to sort things out with them but after a few weeks, it's just cheaper for me to order it from another company in toronto.
i know rite im so mad..... a guy called me from there today we will see what he can pull off.[

I saw this post yesterday afternoon, and contacted the OP as soon as I read his post. I spoke with him today, and believe we have reached a favorable resolution for the OP. I hope in the future, anyone with an issue feels comfortable dropping me a PM with any issues that may arise so I can see what I can do!

I had several orders from Ecs with no problems but when I bought their cheaper MAF it didnt work. I talked to Chris and their customer service to try and diagnose my car. I have new plugs, coil packs, battery, ect.. so I thought my sputter was MAF related. The car ran worse with their MAF. Idle was rough, constantly stalling, major hesitation/unresponsive below 2000 rpms. So I called to say they part was defective and I wanted to return and be credited for an oem part. Noooooooooo, I was put on the chopping block. I had two guys saying credit would be fine, then another saying I had to cut my lose. So I have this MAF as a paper weight now, and it sucks at thst too. I told him I had hundreds invested in their company and I was told a lot of ppl bought more parts than me that had problems. Now I was furious and told him thst isn't the point. I cut my loses like the jerk off said and will NEVER buy electronic parts from them again. Chris tried making it right so don't want him feeling this is attacking him. If I lived closer to Ecs I would have personally drove out their and showed them the part and waited for my customer service to talk to my face the way he did on the phone.

You have to watch out for ECS tuning. I told them personally I will go on the forums and tell everyone how bad their business really is. I also got a bad maf from them. Called them up told them it was bad and Chris said it not your maf its something else. I said I brought it my local audi shop and they also diagnosed it to be bad. He said I have to prove to them via a letter from the shop that it was bad. He tried to diagnose my car over the phone. So I told him how much of a idiot he really is. His response was he was a technician for 10 years. So I said you can diagnose cars over the phone you must think a real lot of your self. The shop ordered me a new maf and it worked unlike theirs. Never mind the brake pads they sold me didn't even fit the car. I ended up getting a partial refund for both. Minus shipping back and to me, and a 15% restocking fee. And I don't care what they have listed in their stupid return policy, I promise I will dispute this crap ASAP with my credit card and get my money back. Just don't shop their you will get screwed eventually. They will eventually fail as a business with that kind of sorry customer service if they keep it up.
I believe everything they sell is brand new from the dealer, so you can imagine they would be skeptical if you told them their brand new audi maf is bad. What do you think is generally more likely a bad brand new maf from an audi dealership or some random DIY person trying to fix his car? I mean you kind of have to see it from their point of view and I am sure that is probably what they were doing in trying to see if they could help you figure out what was really wrong. Now in this case I guess you were right and it was a bad maf. But how many other people you think they have dealt with that told them similar for the billion of random sensors they sold only to find nothing was wrong with it lol. Just saying take it easy but I feel your frustration.
I just placed an order, didnt get one of my items and the guys were really nice and said they would get my r8 oil cap out to me as soon as the next batch came in even with en ETA. I realize people make mistakes somehow and it happens. Cut them a touch of slack. Remember, as I like to think, they get 100s of orders just like yours daily probably more so then any vendor as much of it is non-custom stuff. Soemtimes stuff will happen. I have personally not had any issues less a few high shippin gcosts but then again most of the stuff is on super clearance I buy from them which is awesome.

First, all apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused.
As stated in our terms of use: "ECS Tuning will not offer warranty coverage on electrical components or wearable mechanical items including but not limited to; air mass sensors, oxygen sensors, light bulbs, brake rotors, brake pads, clutch pressure plates, clutch disks and/or flywheels."
Our terms of use also states: "All electronic parts, parts coded specifically for your vehicle and body panel parts are non-returnable items."
We actually cut you a break here and offered a partial refund when normally we don't offer any returns or refunds on electronic items.
We're not the only company that has this policy either. I've personally bought a Genuine Audi/VW coil pack for my B5 from the Audi dealership because I had a misfire and though it was a coil. Spent $98 on a brand new OEM coil to find out it was the connecter boot ($15 dollar part) and I couldn't return the coil pack because of the no returns on electronic items.
If you would like send me your order number and I'll be happy to look into the brake pad issue and help figure out what's going on with that.
Hmm, so if I buy an alternator from you and it comes DOA or stops working after couple of days, you wont take it back? I actually never had a problem with you guys, but good thing you posted your warranty details, now I know what not to buy from you.

Alternators fall in a grey area - though they are an electronic item, most of the time they come with a one year defect warranty from the manufacturer. We'll honor that warranty if it happens to be faulty.

That is BS on the the MAF's. I've had the exact same issue with another retailer and just returned it and they shipped a new one that worked. I've gotten a defective coil pack from Bell AUdi's parts counter and they actaully had me bring my car around inbto the service bay and confirmed it was bad and swapped in a new one for me for free and saved me 2 minutes of getting myt hands dirty. Thanks for reminding me why I haven't given you guys a second chance since you last screwed up my order 4 years ago.
We're obviously not going to sell you bad parts. But at the same time we need some sort of confirmation/evidence that it is indeed bad. It does happen. He very easily could have got something from the shop saying they tested it and it was faulty.
Which is what Chris said.
Seams to me he didn't want to do any of that and just wanted a refund. At that point we either offer 100% store credit or a return that's subject to a 15% restocking fee.
For one thing I refuse to give anybody slack when they try to belittle me over the phone. It doesnt matter one order or thousand a day. Chris stated that its not my maf its something else wrong with my car over the phone. how do u diangose an issue with a car over the phone? I did provide a letter from the shop which I have and ill post this if I have to.
Second they did give me a full refund on the maf which they just stated that was against their policy, what I meant by partial in my previous post was shipping charges and they did charge me a 15% restock fee because their website shows the wrong pads under year make and model. when I called back to speak to a manager because they wouldnt reimburse me for the shipping, the manager wouldnt even discuss anything with me. Can you say bad business.
There is way to many businesses to shop at to deal with garbage from ecs. For u who have had great experiences with them good but I will never ever do business with them again and my suggestion would be stay far away.
We almost never do shipping refunds, and all returned parts are subject to 15% restocking fees. I'm sure Chris was just trying to be helpful and maybe try to eliminate any other possible causes before giving a refund.
I would also like to see which pads you ordered, many models have VIN splits and unless you know exactly what you're ordering it can be confusing. If you would please provide me with the order number for the pads.
You guys wouldnt give me chance when I called to speak to the manager and just blew me off. Now you want to help because the issue is public. No thanks and for the record if chris wasnt such a smart as? On the phone you wouldnt be trying to resolve this right now.
