maybe a possible thread on the DIY for the plaid door inserts? I like, but I have all black interior and maybe suede would look good there, black suede...
Seeing as how I plan all pillars, visors, and headliner to be suede as well...

I could do a write up.....but when i said "factory plaid" i meant it! :) I swapped the entire inner panel from a donor vehicle, it was pretty easy actually. The hardest part is locating the panels themselves. They are pretty rare ;)
Here is the passenger side...all done for now. I do need to get it into a body shop for some tweaking, i could only do so much to get them to line up.
I'll get er washed up and get some more proper pics soon
I gave the Avant a "bath" today in close to freezing temperatures(brrrrrrrr). I thoroughly dried the jams & hinges and lubed the locks...don't wanna be froze-out tomorrow morning. Also cleaned the glass, polished the headlamps, and detailed the alloys.
On the downside...threw a cel last night. Probably another sporadic secondary air fault...I'll find out for sure on Mon. morning.

And the 1st stop in my door shaving process. Rub strip gone...door handle next.
This is a work in progress and will continue to change weekly until i finish up this spring.
So.. I've always hayed these anyways. But, I was under the impression that there are holes behind them, and you had to fill them.
You say you need to have a body shop look at it to line things up.. Could you go into this a little deeper, I'd like to get rid of mine, and if its just glue, then I can do it much sooner than having to actually do body work.

+1

It is not an easy process guys. :( I need to get into a body shop to re-align the doors...since i chose to remove them from the car. The doors 100% have holes and an indent behind the rub strip.
Put on the winter wheels with 20mm spacers in the rear, and 15mm in the front. Put on some Bosch icon wiper blades. And ordered some OEM rubber floor mats at the dealer, should be here Monday.
I'll post a picture up in the winter thread tomorrow.

I'll post up a picture tomorrow for sure. It got dark while I was finishing up, so couldn't get a shot :/
The 20's in the rear are pushing it, They're pretty much flush. I haven't driven with them on yet because I want to check clearances on everything in the light. I'm worried it might rub a little :(
But you know what they say, if you ain't rubbin...

I fought the power steering rack, and I won. Got it replaced, man is that a PITA. Not so much hard work as it is about 2 bolts that are just an absolute MOFO to deal with. However, as long as this rack doesn't leak (doesn't appear to so far) then I'm all good. Still beats replacing a rack in a A1 VW with a 16v (motor has to come out).
Replaced the one bad tire up front (these 19"s gotta go, $211 for one tire sucks) and got the car aligned since I replaced the steering rack last week. Now I just have to figure out the right procedure for zero'ing out the steering angle sensor. Seems to be several ways to do it.
