Lol, DIY day is an understatement. Once all my parts arrive, its going to be DIY 3-day weekend.
I am having a friend of mine come over at least 1 of the days to help with the timing belt (although neither of us had ever done a TB on these cars lol, should be interesting)
Got an alignment for the second time..guy didn't do it that good yesterday
Car drives perfect now..
gunna takle the sunroof drains but i cant get the C pilloar off
You don't need to take the pillar off to clean the sunroof drains. But, to get it off, you need to remove the rear deck first. There are hooks at the back of the c-pillars that hook onto the rear deck. Take that out first and the pillars pop right out.

I did the T-Belt on my car two year ago.. Its not that hard, just mark the cams before removing the belts.. Let me know when you going to do it, I will try my best to come by..

Changed out one of the heater core hoses that was leaking. I really hate those damn clip on connectors that Audi uses. After I got the hose swapped out and fluid topped off, I burped the car and took it for a test drive. Everything was great and I really flogged the car to make sure. Got home, cleaned up and grabbed the wife to go get some coffee. We made a quick stop at the local CVS for some headache meds and off we go. I looked for a leak as I backed out, not a drop, I'm was feeling pretty good at that point.
We get one damn block down and holy smoke batman! Managed to get into the local HomeDepot parking lot and watch almost all of my damn coolant run out. Stuck my hand back where the hose was, yup, there's the hose, totally off the hard line. Lucky me, I've got family in the area and fresh coolant back at the house. Took me and my father a few tries to get the hose back on the line & locked into place, but I think we got it this time. If not, then I don't know what it takes to get that damn thing on there because we both put enough force on it to move the engine on it's mounts a slight bit. We also both burned ourselves on the damn turbo heat shield as well for a little added extra FU from the car. Going to make a few small trips close to home tomorrow just in case, but really hope this doesn't happen again.
reinstalled my amber foglights and o wow they look good, also I had a problem with my radio cd stuck, got the radio out took one of the screws out @ the top of the radio the other screw wont move damn
@ streetsoffire Thanks buddy I love the car! Went to hookup my ECSTuning ECS100 scan tool today and the connection wont fit my 2003 S6 WTF! Anybody else using this scan tool? Really hope I dont have to ship this all the way back. Is there an adaptor or different cord I need?
Ordered 034 snub and cage. 02's arrived yesterday too, might tackle those tomorrow to finally get rid of my CEL. Need to have Tony @ EPL code out my SAI pump and i'll be all good.
Maintenance will commence once Scotty gets all my stuff ready for me. (BTW, he's the man in regards to parts. Blew ECS' prices away and only charges ACTUAL shipping fees if any at all in some cases) Thanks man!
Finally got the steering rack replaced and dropped the car a bit. Got to schedule an alignment, and get some new tires for the 17s Ive got to go on it. Also going to swap my white mirror caps with some black ones.
Got totally sideways! Wasn't even close to what I was looking for on my way to lunch with two co-workers in the car, lol. Down here in Ga, the DOT seems to think that normal white concrete is a great thing to use for on-ramps to the highway which get just as slick as ice when they are wet. Somehow in the last year, I've managed to avoid going up this particular ramp in the rain and just wasn't thinking about it. Today ended that streak and even though the traction control did it's best, this heavy beast still took us for a ride. The problem comes from making an uphill right turn onto the ramp which goes from normal asphalt to a slip-n-slide mid turn.
Seriously thought I'd be apologizing for hours, but my co-workers loved it. I do not have plans to repeat the performance however. At least not with passengers.
Took it to an exhaust shop to get a quote on a custom cat-back. Still trying to decide if I want to use the Supersprint center resonator that I have or not. I dont want drone or too loud, but still want to be able to hear some growl. I've listened to all the clips from the exhaust thread, but listening to a video on a crappy laptop speakers, it sounds nothing like it would in person. Think I'm just going to have the resonator put in and then if it is too quiet, I'll just have them take it out.
As for mufflers don't know which I'm going to go with for Magnaflows. Some people use the smaller oval ones:
Others are using the larger ones:
Would the only difference be that the larger one will be a bit more quiet?

Mounted my new rims and tires today. Deep dish RS4 Reps in Hypersilver 18x8 et35 with Nexen N3000 225/40/ZR18 92Y. Very happy with them and the spacers are on the way! 5mm front, 8mm rear.
Set of ST Coils and Adam's Sport I overdimpled rotors and it's [/Stance]
got her running again! new fuel pump, speed sensor, fuel pump relay, ignition coil, still gotta change dr side O2 sensors, but it runs strong and boosting hard:)
Refurbished both headlights by wet-sanding with 400,800,1000,2000 (spend A LOT of time with 400) following that I polished them with a regular wash towel. After that I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol. Final step was apply a 1:1 ratio of Helmsman MINWAX Clear gloss and Odorless Mineral Spirits with a paper towel dipped in the mixture :)

Spent a couple hours on my bench grinder last night. Picked up a wire wheel for it, got my spare set of brake calipers back to clean fresh metal. Now, they are ready for paint Just waiting for rotors, my 034 adapters for the rear, and my rebuild kits from Scotty.
JonMS, your headlights turned out great. I plan to tackle mine soon. Did you get the sealant at a parts store?
I used a 1:1 ratio of these exact products in the picture, I bought them both at home depot. 3 tablespoons of each was more then enough to do both headlights. Do not use too much as it will run. Don't be afraid if it does not go on in an even layer, the stuff automagically evens out. Just make sure you cover the whole headlight. Should you mess up or accidently drop your Arizona iced tea and it hits the headlight smudging the finish like i did just wipe the headlight down with mineral spirits thoroughly then rubbing alcohol to start process over again.
Put them both up for sale! Pm me if interested, 2) 2000 A6 2.7t quattro's both tip 1 blue, 1 black. Fully serviced both with new transmissions. With all of the usual stuff done!
Sit Down, take a look at it, take it apart, and FIX it!
