Good to hear someone else actually drives his A6. Pray tell how you managed to break your P/S pump. Was it cavitation?
Yes, I go on drives just about every weekend. This was my first track day, and first skid pad time post-Skip Barber and in my own car. Having purposely broken traction in the dry (with the help of our dear friend Mr. Handbrake), I knew what I was up against, despite the assistance of tarmac lubrication. The rear end really doesn't like to get loose, but at full lock, pulsating the throttle, I did manage to get a modicum of slip, though never enough to need to countersteer. After one of my runs, as I slowed down and turned to get back in line, I noticed that my steering assist had disappeared. Upon further inspection, I found metallic flakes in my fluid. So, if by cavitation, you mean the impeller got loose and chewed up some of the pump internals, then yes.
Cheers! :-)

Swapped out the crossovers for the right ones for my front components, ran 14gauge speaker wire from my amp to said crossovers, put in mid bass drivers to the rear doors (no tweeters), reconnected said rear speakers to head unit power, blacked out immobilizer light in my cluster, and recalibrated needles in said cluster.
I hear ya, you should see my girlfriend drive my car, she misses potholes like its life or death and takes it easy with these crazy angles when she pulls into and out of places, i have her trained pretty good lol
That reminds me, I need to teach my gf how to drive, and how to drive stick.
Nice, I a few weeks ago did some spirited driving on Geiger Grade (Road to Virginia City, Nevada) along with Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, Ton of Audis and my slotted/drilled rotors helped immensely.
Replaced the trans mounts and did some vag-com adjustments. Found I don't have oil leaks, I have PS fluid leaks at the steering arms (where's the damnit smiley?) Cleaned up the underside of the car, put everything back together and went for a drive. Still have to recondition the drivers side headlight, will prollie do that tomorrow.
On thursday I replaced a CV Boot and control arm, today I sadly just got to drive it. Scared the shit out of my cousin who used to drive a 2.8 though haha.
Oil change @ 147,800mi...Castrol Syntec 5W40/OE filter...topped-up fluids, inspected undercarriage, & cleaned lower engine...noticed a small drip of oil from the oil cooler housing, so time for a new seal. Might as well replace the original oil cooler hoses while I'm there...does it ever end??

Leaking coolant everywhere on garage floor....
Faulty water pump.....3 years since timing belt job, warranty only 12 months on pump.
Forced to do another timing belt service.
Indy does it for $650 as a token of good faith and an early xmas gift.
Could have been $1200 ticket, but indy treats me with kindness.
Thankful me.
