Thanks for the DIY, bottom line is these things don't work properly as advertised and the fix is a patch that runs hot.
I'm going to pull them out and throw the $30 bucks away.

Ordered them, installed.... and guess what???? BULB OUT LIGHT WTF!!!! tried multiple installs UND bulb out indication everytime... sent a E-mail to tunerdomes and got a reply saying that 99% of the time they work, which is not the case by reading this thread. Later on got another reply saying that some people install resistors and they work. Now I bought these because they Claim no code.... I must say they do look damn good and clean when I had them in. I had to take them out do to the annoying ass bulb out light.

Yep. I love the light output, and like you, I ordered them for the sole reason that they say that they do not put a bulb out code..

I also have the tunerdomes in and bulb out for about 2 months starting to get very annoying....what is the difference between the 35 dollar hoens and 55 dollar hoens license plate bulbs?

if some of you didnt notice, I did post the resister info, a minor inconvenience that can be corrected in less than 10 minutes. If anyone is local to me, I will help with install.

sorry to read all the troubles those of you have had. Apparently it is a hit or miss, however the resister I posted in this thread would eliminate the bulb out warning. Mine are still running strong!

if anyone needs better photos or questions about these resisters let me know, I am more than willing to lend some help to you!

Would it be possible to angle the bulbs so that the light would be less dispersed? I would love to have the clarity of LEDs but without the extra light on my bumper and ground.

I purchased the new style from Dave a few months back and still got the bulb out warning(red display). If you search around it seems that its a hit or miss on our cars...weather or not you have the color display or the red display.

Installed a resistor on mine and now it works like a charm.

Sounds like i have the same problem as you...Where did you install the resistors?

It's very easy, took maybe 15 minutes from start to finish if not less. I just let the resistor hang there. Wrap the prongs/ends of the resistor around the exposed wire and wrap it in electrical tape if you want. I didn't and its stable ;)

Just to update my own post. My dis has been going nuts telling me every two seconds about a bulb out on the plate lights so obviously it was the resistor not being tight on there. I tried to take it off to start fresh......and kinda rippee one wire. Tomorrow ill be getting some new wire and attempting to fix my silly mistake

I agree... I don't like when the extra light to the bumper and ground. Because it don't look like OEM then.

Ok, I have installed camera using this guide and few others. What is the purpose of Resistor? Which resistor to buy if I need one?

I installed rear view cam from ebay, but there is no picture. I wired it to reverse light, when I put in reverse - camera doesn't react, but the black lump on wire gets hot. The cam's led are very dimly on when I turn key in II pos. When I turn headlights on - both license plate lights turn bright on.

ANy ideas ? Any help? My cam is wired:

red wire from cam power cable ****> red/blue wire from loom going to tail light
black wire from cam power cable ****> thick brown wire from loom going to tail light..

Are there any gotchas with license plate bulbs?

I installed ebay rear view camera and its led is dimly lit on when key is in II position. The other license plate light is off then. When I turn headlight on - then both license plate light and cam's led turn full ON - very bright.

I don't get the pic from cam to navi..

Anybody?
