well, i supposedly got a steal from audizine classifieds! 175 for a giac chip! too good to be true? you betcha!! i bought the chip of audihere and he said it was for my car....sent him the money order and he sent me the chip, i went to gmg and tried to get it soldered in and he said it looked like a stock chip, the guy told me the giac chips usually have a board the chip is already on, so i say hmmm, what should i do now? i go home and ask him and he says that there is a program on it, the problem is that the chip is in such bad condition that if i try to bend the pins back ill probally break one off!!! i hate people who are such a*holes, i ask him for my money back because the chip wasnt shipped properly and he blows me off!! he finally gets to the point of saying "just sell it to someone else", what should i do now? btw he is in cinncinati......and hes "finishing his 4 years in law school and his dads a lawyer" ill post pics of the chip when i get home

Take a flight and kick his a$$. All you can do is file a small claims charge against him, he'll have to come to you to fight it, he won't, lose by default and you'll win your suit.

ohhh, i thought he typed it wrong. those handles are a little too similar. i'd like to hear "audihere"s side as well, but ive met audimv in person when he bought my intake, and he seemed like a straight forward guy, so im sure hes telling his part the way it is.

this is how i got it, in the first picture you can see it was shipped in a giac plastic box with no cushin inside whatsoever, its sounded like jewlery in a jewlerybox with no cotton inside, gmg said they would soulder it in and charge 100 but if it doesnt work i have to pay 100 to get my stock one back in, now i dont think that it worth it and the guy at gmg said that all those pins are supposed to be aligned, ive asked audihere nicely and even wanted to talk with him on the phone so he can se my side and he refused numerous times, i dont know what to do, file small claims? i mean, its his fault he didnt ship it right if it was in "perfect condition" when he sent it so i dont know? i should payed the extra 25 bucks to buy evils and have no problems instead of being such a cheap ass and not have to go through all this

Thats the stock EEPROM. You should be able to solder it on. I paid $20 to have a local electronics do one for me. Ask around at the EE department at your local university and I'm sure someone can do it for you for much cheaper.

It may infact have a program on it since tuners flash the stock eproms with their software.

Odds are you didnt get ripped off. You should have asked if it came with an encryption board.

PS - I've been sent chips like that plenty of times without any problems...floating in the giac box.

that sucks to hear man, I dont know what you are going to do, but I would suck it up, although it is 100 bucks and take the lesson from this.. I dont think it is worth going through the hassle of small claims or anything like that. And its not your fault for wanting to save a couple bucks.. if you knew what you know now thne you obviously wouldnt have bought from that guy.. its too bad there are dicks that arent true to their word, trust me, there arent to many bad guys on Audizine, all are pretty trust worthy, sorry to hear man. good luck with it.

P.S. even if he claims it is flashed I dont think it is worth another 100 bucks to have it put in, he sounds shaddy so it is prob not flashed and now you will be putting it in and taking it out for another 200. into it now for 300. take the 100 loss and move on. tough break man...

That is a real GIAC chip and it probably does have a program on it. But he sent you a chip that is worth about $20.00 bucks it's usless without the encriptor that the chip snaps into. The encriptor is the expensive part of the chip it's useless without it. audihere probably wasn't trying take advantage he probably didn't know but he needs to step up and make things right.

Don't bother getting it soldered without the encriptor it wont work.

yeah i know, i guess i trust people too much, i mean he gave me the number of the giac dealer that flashed it onto the chip it prolly has a program on there but the thing is the condition of the chip, it shouldnt be bent like that......he was pretty shady too so i dunno

I'd be very surprised if this guy refuses to give back the money. He's sold something that is not as advertised. That's illegal, plain and simple.

Regardless of what is actually on that chip, there's no excusing the lack of the socket. As we all know, no socket, no installation.

Quite honestly, that chip could even be blank, who knows. The fact that he actually shipped a chip that was that jacked up looking is pretty insulting.

You guys...this same argument comes up on Vortex, AZ, and AW quite frequently. Every couple of months, both the buyer and the seller dont understand the need to sell the chip with an encryption board. Whether or not he knew that, is a different story.

well it seems some people on here have sense in seeing that it isnt really damaged and theyve seen worse chips that have worked just fine. i have guatanteed this chip to work. ya thats where i got it from a dealer i guess obviously who takes blank chips he told me and flashes them with their software from giac. before he bought it i told him he would need to get it soldered/installed by a dealer of some sort. i plainly said that this is a chip and nothing more. im only going to be cival here once but when the bashing comes on im gonna be right back at ya just to warn.

Haha, who you gonna bash? Were not the ones selling someone a shitty, damaged chip. Have you ever worked with IC's before? Prolly not, cus then you would know that those pins are very fragile, and will break very easily if you try to straighten them. I'd suggust being a man about it, and giving him back his money, becuase you didn't package the chip very well for shipping. But thats my .02.

Yeah - we've had trouble with Audihere over at Audiforums where I moderate... not selling anything, but he is a moron that likes to flame on people and has some major issues.

like people have said, if he refuses to give you a refund, take it to small claims. may be a hassle but its $175 bucks he's tryin to screw you over on. he may say it isnt really damaged but when the "prongs" are bent like that, how is that not considered damaged? this guys a moron. i'd do my best to get my money back if i were you.
