    DIY crankshaft seal change GTG

    Whats up folks,

So my situation is I have an oil leak coming from the front of engine (03 A4 B6 Qtro)(not camshaft seal or oil pan gasket) but middle to lower part of block. I guestimate that its a pully or crankshaft seal. I have had bad experiences with local shops and dealerships in the past so they are not the first people I call on. Plus the fact is I want to learn the in-outs of my car while saving money. I have above average know how and experience in swaps and engine maintanence but this is a different platform and I am still getting use to.

So I would like to ask if there is anyone interested in helping me pinpoint and replace the seal I suspect is the crankshaft seal. Also I think it would be good to do a denifinitive write up on this as I have been searching for this alone and have not found a DIY for this procedure. Now I have read and re-read the DIY for timing belt but im interested in bypassing all unnessary steps to get to just the isolated seal im after. So with that said any takers? I have limited space in Pasadena but im open to traveling or borrowing a garage in Upland.

    Let me know-thanks in advance
    -L
