I assume the motor work is already done? What are the specs? You made a big leap if your sig was up to date before this!

    Looks beastly!

Can't wait to see when this thing hits full boost. Journal or Ball bearing and .63 or .82 a/r? That thing is going to be sick that is for sure. What tuning, Maestro? Looks like you will even be able to fit a filter on that thing the way the turbo is placed which is awesome. I would love to have a filter on my 5857 instead of just a screen. One day I will lose this pos atp log manifold and actually get a better manifold.

Better get yourself a good fuel pump (Bosch 044, aeromotive, or dual walbro 255) and some big injectors (1000cc)!

Yes. It has 1mm larger inducer (62mm vs 61mm) on compressor wheel and same exducer (81.9mm vs 82mm) and the turbine wheel is bigger by 3mm (71mm vs 68 inducer) and pretty close to same exducer (61.9mm vs 61.6mm).

Okay after I read all that my head and ears popped off...

If I understand u correctly measurements are:
    hot-side inducer/wheel/exducer
    cold-side inducer/wheel/exducer

Im thinking, as sweet as that build is, why waste it on FWD? Are you planning on doing a AWD conversion or just buying alot of front tires! Its gonna boil them at 15-18psi, if not less! And what about tuning?

As the car sats before i pulled the engine, the sig is up-to-date. Right now my sig should say "engineless" but yea its been machined, etc.

Ball bearing, .82 a/r. I am leaning towards Maestro for now, and thinking about 1000cc injectors (unless Shawn advises otherwise). We will run either a screen (which makes it looks sexy or a filter.

For now it stays FWD...i told clint that it would be great to compare how FWD stacks up against AWD. Shawn had no prob putting the power to floor before, besides I get tires wholesale and ECS has $500 trannys.

a turbo that is capable of 500+ and your FWD is a waste. I had FWD and AWD on the same car and the difference is huge. Good thing making these car AWD is not bad at all probably cost you the same as that turbo you bought.

    Chris,
I inquired into this about a month or two ago and the answer was that Maestro is not available for the 2002 ECu at this point in time. I forget who's thread I posted it in but I did post my email reply from Chris Tapp.

I sent Chris the .mstro file read from ECU the other day and he sent me my tune this morning. I asked him if he had any issues with the 02 ECU and said he finalized some issues with it a while ago and was no problem.

So you were one of the 'testers' that he told me he had for the 2002 ECu. Cool beans!

Again, about a month or two ago the answer was it was not available. Obviously progress is being made so I guess both Dan and Chris are in luck.

My experiences have not been too favorable. I truely do wish you the best and I hope your experiences are better than mine have been.

You are one of the half a dozen people that wants the drivetrain for either a FWD to quattro swap or an automatic to manual swap. I still have a few more mods to sell (alcons, motorsports, mtm exhaust and RS4 wheels). Once those are sold then I can start thinking about OEM stuff like the quattro drivetrain. Send me an email and I'll think about it.

The 3076 at 28psi with FWD and 235's on my HRE's hooked up better than my Roadster does now @ 515whp with 275's in the back. I'd gladly put this build on a FWD A4 if it we're me. AWD = break shit, especially tranny's which I think plenty have proven here. Stick with the FWD for a bit, see how it performs and how it holds up. If you can get some 245 or 255 DR's in the front and keep them on all the time you'll be alright IMO

I can't tell you how long Tony and I talked about the building of his motor. Tony choose to do it local to him, I hope that everything motorwise works out as well! I offered to have it done local here by me, the same place that did Anthony's machine work and I would have personally assembled it all but he had trust in who he was working with. When the machine shop doing his block said a torque plate wasn't needed with his motor for machining I almost had a heartattack! I don't know how many times I told him "Tony, no, thats not acceptable!" the night I got that phonecall. haha I shipped my tq plate out right away to Tony so luckly we aborted that disaster!

You know I am not questioning your work, Shawn. I am just giving Tony a forewarning. I am sure both you and he have done your homework but from what I have seen, work is hit or miss coming from BobQ. I've had a bad experience and a good experience. Friends of mine have had both bad and good experiences. It is the luck of the draw I presume.

There is great promise in Tony's vehicle. I hope he has a relatively smooth road ahead and wish him the best.
