I know almost nothing about nitrous, except for the chemical effect. Is this mostly useful for the quarter mile or acceleration? Does this have any effect in top speed? Or would a 550HP car versus a 480HP +70HP shot still go faster in the long run around a track or for top speed? Thanks

Nitrous is useful in any aspect of powersports where more power is needed. Nitrous is not confined to just one app such as quarter mile. Its very versatile and a great option if the kit is designed correctly.
Direct port is the best and safest way to go.
After Years of working on the Audi and telling Technicians what to do. I'm hoping my suggestions can do the same for you

Call them, they'll take care of ya. It's actually a pretty sweet deal in my book, and its a full kit with everything you need from start to finish apparently. I think the pricing is spot on if not a little better then some of the speculation has been for this product. Regardless of the price there's no question of the killer performance they get out of it (check the vid if you're a newb and haven't seen it). And still some room to grow in it for the future as well.

All I know about nitrous is that you activate it from a laptop by the passanger seat while racing , when it kicks in flames the same color of the neons under your car shoot out of the exhaust ( if not running neons the flames will be the same color of the car, red car rd flames, blue car blue flames ), and then you get that jump into warp speed kinda tunel vision, you know like when the millenuim falcon jumps into hyper space but with buildings instead of stars, thats basically how it works son

This is sooo off topic. But I would like to ask. If this was the case why didn't Dom's (vin D's) car do the same thing and he won?
On topic. Im very excited about this. From jays clear results Vs. the S/C car and then not hearing any issues with the beta cars. Im on the list for sure. Ill see If I can't E mail today and get more information
If you don't have haters, then you're not kicking enough ass.

Seriously not needed, go troll somewhere else. One of the most active tuners for the platform has come out with a simply amazing product that is going to have application purposes on several models. On top of that, with this "bottle" they currently hold the fasted B6/B7 S/RS track time at 12.2 and blow the pipes off of the Supercharged cars out their right now (in the qtr mile). They've shaved over a second & a half off of the quarter mile on a 4000lb sedan with keeping a full stock interior and such.
If your not a fan of nitrous (including myself, not a huge fan, rather have s/c or turbo application) this has still taken a tremendous amount of R&D as well as ingenuity, especially with the complications of the S4's intake manifold. And my opinion is that regardless of whether this is a mod people are looking at doing, they should still be excited for the developmetnal purpose of what they've accomplished and their desire to push the platform further along.

Um, not useful for some aspects of powersports. Sure, at the drag strip, they'll let you use it. But I've never been to a track event (road racing) or autocross event where it was legal to even have the bottle installed, let alone use it. You can't even pass tech with it, and besides, you want linear throttle responses for maximum smoothness and predictability of the car as a whole, and nitrous offers neither of those.
It definitely makes power, and I'm sure it's fun, but it's something I'll never bother to pursue. Oh, and thank you JHM. We lovez joo.

FYI. NOS Was used in F1 cars a few years back and it is legal for road racing. I don't know what version of or what class you run in but it is legal and accepted and used.
To save a long debate on this. go read several of the mustang auto x forums. this is actually still to this day a mainstay for some of those guys.
