lol weirdest problem ever. Only light scratching on the walls. I could probly get away with a new hone, or at the most going to 81.5mm walls. But I will be going to 83mm or 83.5

brand new crate aeg today. My scat rods seem like they are going to be fine, if not i can buy single scat rods. Now, i just need to get pistons ordered

So been busy with a bunch of stuff, so haven't done much to the a4. Pulled the harness out and started straightening things out and making everything a touch cleaner. Pulled all the crappy aluminum heat shields in the bay, and making new ones of my own, that should neaten things up. Got my new AEG crank, ordering MAHLE 83mm pistons and probly going to swap my scat rods out for new DM FORGED rods. Sending the down pipe, turbo and psi manifold out to be ceramic coated.

The only new pix i have are of my polished and wrinkle coated abs unit. Not the bigest fan of polished aluminum but most of my bay is wrinkled black so i figured this could break it up a bit.

lol i thought about doing a full shave, but then it just seems empty. The engine looks lonely that way. I'm planning on keeping it look semi oem looking, just clean. Everything will still be under the hood, it just will be laid out better.

Still very busy with work, but my pistons are finally here.
Mahle 93mm 92.8mm stroke 9.25 to 1 pistons
The engine will probably bored this week and the crank, flywheel, rods and pistons will all be balanced at the same time.

lol well i just painted it. Taped up the connectors and sprayed away. But, my alt did not work after that. I am fairly certain i could have made it work again, but i bought another..... I actually have an extra one i am going to tear apart and clean the insides and paint the outside... I will probly make a diy of that.

Update!!! Every problem that could happen has. And yet the car is together and pretty much ready to go. But, now i am facing tuning issues. I have a 034 intake spacer and my ignition timing is so off, i can see each cylinder firing. But, i am working on writing a better build thread that truely explains my complete build and all the stages. So, once i get this ignition issue lined out i will be starting a new build thread

Cool cool. I took the alternator off my 96 and I can't seem to figure out how to get the rotor? (been a while since I looked up the part names) out of one half and getting the stator out of the other side.

A bit of an update. Not, really for the car more of my personal status. I have been super busy with work and other interest. My work schedule is nuts my family owns a roofing business and i run a good percentage of it. And right now i have more jobs than i could dream of. If you came in today and wanted a roof the soonest i could get to you would be close to Christmas and that is assuming perfect weather(no rain or snow.) Then i have other hobbies; aquariums, rc cars, and xbox360/ps3.

Rc cars wise i have really been busy. I recently found a european company that makes VW Corrado bodies. And then a company that makes BBS RS wheels for rc's.

And i also have bought a Diesel MK2.... Bought it running, instead of driving I went right to modding. I lowered it and started freshening the interior. When i finally was ready to drive it I found my diesel system staying primed. Well after fixing that an axle broke... Axle will be in tomorrow, and the car should be ready to break some more.

The a4 is probably going to wait till the start of next season. I have some big plans for it i would like to do before driving again, especially since the car has been down so long.

taking a semi sad turn :/ found a 66' 911 i am buying and really have no need for so many projects so the bt has to go :( Will be buying a wrecked a4/passat transplanting engine over to my 01. Just parting the motor, the car will remain wide and low just now it will be slow.
