kinda another build thread... on a silver car even

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well i bought the car and not to far into ownership and with the a little bit of valve float it became inoperable. Wich offered an excellent situation to make my car a bit better. And with the help of Issam/INA/034 it is definitely going to be better. My main plan is a car that was daily drivable with minimal maintenance(for an audi ) I wanted to still have goodish gas mileage also. so onto mods and pics

    01 audi a4 quattro 70,000
    unitronic 440cc tune
    seimens 440injectors
    eliminator gt28r with 2.5" inlet
    ina manual tensioner conversion
    034 3" test pipe
    complete ferrea valvetrain
    aeb head
    new aeb pistons
    034 coated rod bearings
    scat rods
    hallman pro mbc
    034 phenolic manifold spacer
south bend stg 3 clutch-dual mass
    racetech fmic
    034 turbo inlet pipe
    034 aluminum tt maf housing
    fk coilovers
    97 sport cloth seats
    s4 beltline trims
    awe pedals
a few sets of wheels and a bunch of other stuff............................

    onto pix

    when i first got it

    the problem

and then some other pix along the way

    update- may 16
car runs amazing........... alternator was bad and i need aeb fuel rail or awm injector seats to run my aeb intake........ 500+miles now

took a bunch of pix but apparently i got something on my lens at some point so not as many pix as i wanted :(
22.75" gtf and i think keith may have some pix

I love my oem RS4 bumper and s4 skirts.
However, it looks like you need a dead pedal.

Did you already replace the alternator? If not I bet there is a good chance when you painted that bracket the thing lost its ground connection. Meaning your alternator is still good, but it's not working due to the bad ground.

Yeah. All the mating surfaces need to be clean. The bolts alone wont do it. Did this issue come about after you painted the bracket? Like it was working, you painted, then it stopped working?

yea i cleaned all the surfaces, i was making sure you wasn't talking about some bracket inside the alt. and yea it happened after being painted..... lol i just painted it without taking it apart. i figured if it worked awesome if not.... i know a yard that sells them for $25 lol

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the alternator itself. Because I don't know its whole deal, but I'm assuming all the parts where it meets the bracket need to be completely clean of paint so its bare metal on metal. But specifically I'm only talking about the retarded bracket its attached to. Naturally I assume every part where something is bolted to the block or to the bracket or to the alternator needs to fresh and clean, NO paint blocking contact anywhere.

    yep celebrations.................

but car has been wrecked. some dumbass girl ran stop sign right into my car. She hit me so hard i spun a little past 180 degrees. The side curtain airbags and seat airbags went off. 3 wheels are going one direction and the 44th is all on its own. She was actually babysitting and the parents she was babysitting for let her drive there van. They were some really really trashy people. And they had "the general" insurance, so they probly won't want to pay for shit. But progressive told me they will take care of everything........ but onto the pix

at first i thought yea it probly will be totaled. But really i doubt they will. Its a fairly highly modded vehicle that has 1200 miles on it since build. I own a shop and have receipts for all parts and can print out the receipts for labor. So it would be a $9,000 kbb car, $10,000 in parts, and all the labor i want to provide receipts for. And ive actually looked into alot of insurance things. And it seems there are laws that protect someone like me from getting screwed by insurance companys(in indiana at least ) That way people don't go out put money in their car and then have it wrecked, and insurance company's just pay for the blue book value.

and yea there were two girls in the car and then apparently two little kids in it also. Everyone was fine, then within like 3mins the girls big ol mama was there and then there was like 100 little kids around. I was luckily alone, but on my way to pick up a date. The only semi injury was the stupid seat airbag gave me like a rug-rash and the curtain airbags destroyed my vw sunglasses lol

when i recked my mazda back in december my insurance company only reimbursed me for my exhaust and intake. like i had led tails and a bunch of other little things that added up to bunch but they didnt pay for it. i think has to do with like wat the car needs to be road legal, thats what it looked like from what they paid for and didnt. i hope they do reimburse you cuz you got a boat load of money invested into it. good luck

Yeah definitely totaled no matter what. You need a new interior, not mention the crap on the outside. Now you just argue what its actually worth and get your money. I hope you at least got it towed back to your house. Make sure they pay you for those sunglasses too haha.

Nope not totalled!!! But there were $5616 in damages. Luckily my car is an 01 with low miles so it had a fairly high blue book value $9500

So repairs have kind of begun. Insurance wants to get a statement from the driver of the other vehicle and then they will be sending a check tomorrow.

And also turns out either my jaw is broken or i have tmj or something. When the wreck happened it was loud and my ear was ringing/hurt. I just figured it would go away, but it didnt. Went to the doctors office and turned out to be kinda serious. Just got xrays monday waiting on results

IF it is infact TMJ sue them. This could be a life long problem and have lots of negative effects such as chronic migraines. My mother has TMJ.

yea xrays are back jaw isn't broken so its more than likely tmj. The insurance adjuster was really cool, then they switched it to a women that turned out to be a total bitch :/ we fought for 2days straight. But she had the check for repairs sent out today :) that was actually a bigger concern than the jaw issue, i needed my car back for midwest volkfest.

So now that i have the ok for repairs to start, i have ordered a rear tie rod end over night. I was out of the office till late so it wont ship till tomorrow. So saturday i plan to get that installed and my car will be drivable again.

but my plans for when i get the car repaired are...................

Audi ice silver or audi oxygen silver paint
    s4 headliner pillar etc
go to a real big turbo, instead of my gt28
may change up the wheels a bit
maybe finally put in my silver alacantra seats

o and CrtchRktRcr gave that carbon fiber hood away lol
