    Beautiful car man

Good luck with the build, I cant wait for it to be done. BTW, around what RPMs do you hit full boost?

    Here's a comparison of a 3L 770 car vs. a 2.7L. The 3L is spooling considerably faster - AND is running 0% WGDC in this log. Basically 770's on a 3L hit 30psi at 4000rpm...

Car is being built and dyno tuned at AMD which is basically right down the street.

Your lucky! I wish i was closer to VAST. This tuning and the build would have gone much faster!

You got a pretty good parts list there, excited to see the results.

I'm with you Adam, I am fortunate to have AMD in my backyard. Hang in there bro, you got the right stuff for big power, just need to nail the tune.

Wow shes gonna be a beast, I still kind of wish I could have found a laser car I love that color, makes it hard for me to get rid of my A4. There's a pretty good collection of really fast S4s up here in the NW, mine should be there soon. Also any chance you plan on taking it down the strip or on the track? Would love to see this thing tear it up.

=jibberjive;5192386]I guess a better way to ask my question is, what are your design goals with your build and how do you feel that headers were the only thing that didn't fit with them? I know your build will have more WHP than you need, but you're spending all that money on all of the small extra odds and ends to try to max out your setup, or rather use all of its potential, right? Sorry Adam, I'll take these questions about his build to his thread from now on.
As with most builds it starts out one way and progresses to something else. I think .49 AR shows its a good ballance for the 2.7T. Still waiting for someone who did the exhaust mani's to produce the results everyone expects. If I wanted to make 700-800WHP I would definately have included them. But when is enough? Personally I am happy with 550WHP on pump and 650WHP on race. Not saying thats what I am shooting for. The car will land where it lands when its all said and done. 30PSI @4K PRM should be FUN!

How much boost do you run on the 770s? The graph you showed doesn't show all that much, I mean it sure does show that the spool is much better than before, but to people who may not know the stock MAP sensor is at it's limit at ~22PSI. So that's not showing the whole picture. Some will think full boost is achieved by X RPM but I'm sure you're not running just 22PSI on these :).

That graph shows spool on a 3L motor. 770's can hit 40+ PSI, and efficiency range is 30-34psi. Plenty of data on 770's with cars making over 550WHP no issues with great spool characteristics.

I can tell you that what you dont see is the turbos hitting 30PSI @ 4K RPM. Since I am no longer doing 770's, unfortunately I will not be able to share my 3L + 770 experience.

    Thanks for the pics Jason.

First time ever I feel my car is where I really want it to be. It's pretty awesome! It probably wont see final tune until I get her broken in first. But believe me I want to get it tuned ASAP!

Should probably take delivery next week. Been a long build process, I have changed my mind more times then you could imagine on where I wanted to go. I want to thank AMD for delivering on expectations for form and function, not cutting any corners, working within my budget to complete this car.

Ultimately I was going for bigger turbos over the 770's. But I changed my mind and stuck with them. I like the balance of power and spool.

Can't wait for EPL/AMD to tune the car!

So you left stock intake stuff like me? Stock Intake Manifold and Throttle Body? I'm very curious to see how that works out if so. Would br nice to know if really is a big restriction or not.

Any guesses what it will do with stock uppers? Basically no cold side mods. Will be doing that at a later date, possibly. I don't think it will make the same power at your boost level. But I think it will make more tq, and I plan on running more boost on a pump tune.

awesome. very curious to see what 770s do on a 3L. I think it will be good to compare it to 770s on a 2.7 and to HTA2868s (w/ tial .64 vband hotside) on a 3L.

Im sure you will have a 600+whp dyno sheet to share very soon!

I am waiting for AMD to develop IM and other cold side stuff, and come up with another solution that might be worth more gains. However I have heard up to 30WHP or more if you do RS4 uppers w/2.8CAMS.

I am running RS4 cams; because thats what I had. Other then the 2.8 heads, This will let people know if doing all the cold side shit is worth it or not. My goal with this build was focused on crazy spool and early boost numbers. However if it is a huge efficiency difference not having RS4 uppers I can always go that route.

I can tell you that the car is already crazy, wheel spin on break-in tune, and hits harder then my K04 car did. You can definitely tell the difference with 3L.
