LOL.... 5.48 Canadian for 89 then add the cost for Octane Boost....
Ouch!

Move to a place with terrible weather and you can have your 93!
Most states in the US have 93 octane premium. California has a 91 octane cap for emissions purposes and the states with large areas of high altitude land (such as Rocky Mountain states) have 92 octane premium as you don't need the higher octane at high altitude. "Weather" has nothing to do with it, FYI.
EDIT: Some of the higher altitude states are 91 as well (just checked with midwest traders).
Just out of curiosity, how would the APR 93 Program work with 92 octane? Would anyone in that area pretty much be SOL and forced to use only the APR 91 program?

I know, I was just being facetious since weather blows in all the north and south east. :)
... you don't need the higher octane at high altitude.
That's only true for naturally aspirated engines, well I guess you can debate the definition of "need"... Wonder if availability of 93 in high altitude regions will change now that turbocharging is becoming a lot more common?
Closest station to me happens to be a Shell. Their premium is a 93 octane. Been very happy with it, but I have no fear of other brands, but with a 5% off Shell card, life is fine.
Since this has already been bumped from 6 months ago, I'll just enter my 2 cents.... Over the last five years, I have tried Exxon/Mobil, BP/Amaco, Shell, Sheetz (PA equiv to a WaWa), and a few others, all 93 octane, in my 2003 VW Passat, 2007 Audi A4, and 2009 Audi A4. I have always gotten the best gas mileage using Shell 93 octane V-power! And IMO the car just seems to run better/smoother/peppier with it (which I admit is probably just be in my head, but who cares). I just wish someone offered gas without ethanol....
