    HELP!! RPM goes up when cars in park

    when i started the car the check engine light was on, then later on when i put it in park the rpms kept goin up and i didnt now what it was, so i kept driving and when i stop agen it still happen.....anyone now what this could be??????

    fuel pump and filter it happend to me but try the filter frist if this not help then the pump also check the fuel lines to see if the line is broke. it is going high becuse the pump is trying to put more gas in the car if the filter is blocked or if the pump is going

    Could be the Engine Speed Sensor also

    Fuel filter is 45-50 OEM fuel pump is 200-225 depends where u get the stuff . ..... let me kno i can install for you if you want... how many miles on your car???

    seems like a senor issue though .... not totally on the fuel pump or filter..... has your MPG decreased in the last weeks/months?

    yea thats y im leading it to a sensor not pump.... try doing a voltage check and get it scanned if its the sensor it will say it it....

    If you have a CEL scan it for codes, don't assume is anything before you get a code.

    is your car misfiring? could be a vacuum leak or your MAF sensor.
    Disconnect your MAF and see if it still doing it.
