    Well without built heads I don't want to rev it past 7300. Especially because this old girl has 154k miles on her and I tried starting in fourth and it wasn't as fast a time even when I brake boosted.

    Thanks Jason. I wish you could see what its like with 5 gallons of e98 mixed in. I think when I get some moreyout here (the 55 gallon is in DET. OT will be closer to low 9s I couldn't get it to the afr I like on this pump winter mix bulogna we will see I guess....

    I assume you have the RS4 gearbox then?
    On the standard S4 box, and stock rolling circumference, it should hit 130mph at 6950rpm.
    7300rpm with stock S4 setup should mean 136mph

    No sir I think you are mistaken I have the stock S4 trans and I shifted at7200 which was 120ish ask any other guy who has done the 60-130 pull.

    Hmmm...that is strange. The stock S4 gearbox should have 4.11 FD and 0.967 4th gear. With 225/45/17 or similar circumference tires, that translates to well over 130mph at 7300rpm.
    Plug the data into a gear calculator like this one:http://www.scirocco.org/gears/
    At 130mph tire compression/growth should be pretty much zero.
    My 4th gear is 6.5% shorter (1.03 ratio on the 4th gear in the RS2 box, same as RS4) and I easily hit 125mph before 7300rpm, I hit the rev limiter before 130mph, though.

    Mathias is able to hit 130mph in 4th in his S4, with what I believe is the stock limiter.

    We did it in one shift with the stock S4 box - 245/40/17's with 7500rpm rev limit getting over 130mph. I think the ECU/template mph conversion doesn't do the greatest job compared to GPS, you're probably going over 130...

    That's weird I revved mine to 7350rpm in 4th with my OEM S4 DSY Gearbox and it did 214 km/h = 132,973435 mph , Running 235-40-18

    Yep I was decieved by my spedo. So if thats true, When I shifted out of 4th I was already going 130..? so that means it was an 8 something according to my g graph..? I know I'll have to do it again but thats pretty cool.

    I think the rpm to mph conversion on the Vagcom based software uses a correction factor for tire compression that is too large, and especially at such high speeds where inertia effects will cancel pretty much all the compression. This causes the mph to read lower than it should.
    The test should be done with a Pbox/Vbox or accurate accelerometer (accelerometers like G-Tech will yield very accurate results for a roll on test like this).

    Production tolerances and tire wear will affect the result, of course, but yours is amazingly close.

    Edit: forgot that the speedo will read somewhat lower than real life, but tire compression might be somewhat higher on a dyno. Not easy, this..

    That is weird. 4th gear in the RS4 box is 1.032 vs 0.967 in the S4 box. At 8500rpm and that tire size, you should see a theoretical 153mph. 143mph should be hit at 7940rpm. Could the box have shorter than stock RS4 ratios?

    What is out 5th gear ratio ? .76 ? if that is the case ... at 150 shift from 4th to 5th and expect to be about ~ 6,291 ... that thing is pretty sweet

    sounds like fun.. but obviously I am geographically challenged as well ... so I had to google PIR and find out that it is in Portland ... and on the MAP it looks a lot closer to you than to Los Angeles

    I used to launch this car at stage 2 all the time. It was a lil more tricky to launch at 450 whp with my twin but I dialed that in. But launching this car is a whole other story, which has shown to break parts right away. I'm considering the launch with my axles, but we'll see. I'll at least 1/4 mile, just don't know how hard I wanna take off : ). With how well it's been performing I should be able to get a good trap speed and a descent 1/4 without a full launch. I don't think anyone around here has had the opportunity or had much experience launching a 650/700 whp s4

    Pretty much impossible to launch the car hard with the power it's making. The new rear axles we just put in after breaking the last new set are already twisted. That means rear axles bend purely from horsepower in addition to bending/breaking when launched hard. Super Awesome.
