*Hampton Roads Audi Owners*
I know there are not a lot of Audi enthusiasts in the Hampton Roads area, but Im hoping this thread will bring them out of hiding! Im really looking to roll with some folk from around here. I know with 2 million people in the area, there must be some good cars out there.
Once we get some poeple, we can start a meet. Im looking to jump start a group for either all Audi, all AWD, or all German autos.
Im Justin from Newport News/Hampton area.
Im in a B6 S4.
POST UP!

Hope this works out for you man. I grew up and hampton and actually visiting family this weekend. I got passed by an e46 3 series with a poorly-fitting CF hood and trunk. So I floored the altima (rental car) and put him in his place. ha

4ty, nice to meet you as well...
Are you doing just springs, or struts/shocks too? Have you done this kind of work before?
Are you military? There is an Auto Hobby Shop with lifts and tools at Langley AFB. I do my own work there all the time, to include oil changes, installing my intake and full exhaust, etc.
If you are not military, I still may be able to help get you in. That really depends on how skilled you are, or if you have other friends who are. I have done spring before in my other vehicle, but it helps to have a few other people that have done it too.

Well, I want to do springs and shocks. I have done this before when I had my mk5, but it was such a beast to do (first time doing it, might I add). I am willing to do it again, but I don't anyone that has had experience with this and I saw the DIY on this (dropping the rear subframe kinda worries me). That's why I decided to post on here to get some input. I'm not military (I was a brat once, but then I turned 24). Thanks for your input though. I'm excited to get to a meet and talk audi (and euro for that matter) with like-minded enthusiasts.

But rare is good in a sea of cars that are a dime a dozen.
Since I have owned my car, I have had numerous friends tell me not to even bother trying to hang around those Honda's and the like... stating that our cars are in a much higher class. It sounded arrogant at first, but they're right.
That is why we need to represent!

That's good and bad. It's good because I feel like I am special when I ride around in this car. Understand, if someone in HR is driving euro, it's mostly BMWs and Mercs (talking luxury). You don't see many audis on the road. The bad is you don't see many audis on the road. Meaning, if you want to get one used, it's pretty tough to come by one you really want. I love my ride to death, but I had to settle for what I have. Looking for a quattro sline sedan in this area is like looking for a unicorn. A avant (which is what I wanted), forget about it.....more like looking for the holy grail.

Gotta expand your search mate - stretch it into the New England area or NY and you will find a lot of used Audis :) I drove from DC to north of Philly to get my Audi. If its the one you want, they are worth the extra travel imo.

Would you be up for a meet when we get a few other together? It looks like we have 4 in the area so far including myself.

I did when I was first looking...planned it and everything. Didn't know I would sell my mkv as fast as I didn't and caught myself unprepared. I needed a ride quick and the I have popped up and jumped at it. So, I'm satisfied.....for time being.

Ok guys, lets see who is available for saturday. Let me know if during the afternoon, or the evening works better, or if you can do both. If we cant get anything for this weekend, then we will try again.

Sounds nice. I don't know when I will be available. Planning on giving the car a wash (wax maybe?) that day, which means that I will have to do the same for the wife before she says that I don't care about her car (I don't really, but don't tell her that). Let me know what you guys do.

Im going to make a run to the Bass Pro Shops this Saturday night for the car group that goes out there.
Anyone interested? Weather permitting of course, but it is supposed to be warm! I rolled by there last week and it was packed (on a cold night).

Well, I'm getting my suspension kit at the end of next week. Any takers on helping me put it in? As for Saturday night, I may be able to make it. I'm working that day in NN, but live on the southside. Don't like all the driving back and forth. But, we'll see.

Bass Pro was PACKED. I would say at least 100 cars, if not more.
I might be able to help you out. Where are you going to do it? Do you have all the tools? Do you know what the install takes? Are you doing just springs, or coilovers?

Was it a good mix of cars? How long were you out there? As for the install, I have most of the tools. But, as you said earlier, it would be nice if I could recruit someone with prior knowledge. I'm doing springs and struts. Well, I guess I can post up on the other sites to find some help. Thanks

Yes. I went out with them last night, as I now roll regularly with a GTI guy. Usually people start showing up between 6 and 7 at Aromas, but I think they try and park in the parking garage right there, on the second level. Most of the time, they go to the Starbuck on Oyster point and Jefferson as well, but usually Aromas first.
If you are wanting to go out this Wednesday, ill be going. Ill PM you my number. Just send me a text, since I dont answer unknown numbers.

Welcome. If you didnt know already, there is a huge car meet at the Bass Pro Shops in Hampton every Saturday night starting about 830ish and people usually stay till 1230 or 1. I have gone the last 3 weeks so far this year and its pushing 150+ cars.
Let me know if you want to go up there this weekend. I will be going, as I only live 5 mins from there.
