I think we need to all chip in and send you some funds to build a garage/workshop! I dig the write-ups, i'm just afraid that you might get eaten by a polar bear or your wife/g-friend/sig other finds you frozen on a sheet of bubble wrap one day!
And I for 1 cant wait until you start the re-wiring process, so please dont become a davecicle on us just yet!
Great work, David.
FYI- I pulled back the plastic panel along the left side of the dead pedal by wedging my finger underneath it starting from the top and sliding downward and pulling back at the same time. It helped tremendously having that out of the way, though I still busted a few of those clips underneath, but it's still firmly attached to the floorboard.

Another excellent write-up.
Wondering if the dead pedal only can be purchased.
I've 'de-aluminized' most of my interior with matte black paint & clear coat (I have wood trim in beige interior),
and am thinking doing gas & brake pedals as well would be going the other way.
I'll email John in UK with dead pedal P/N.
Cheers

Oh yeah you can get each one separately.. Take the Valium approx 30 mins prior to starting install. Then you wont care how Audi can make one pedal easy and the pedal right beside it a nightmare just to mess with you.
Cabal_san - thanks for your concern, I now have gel knee pads (everyone keep their comments to themselves) to aid in the anti Davecile fight. Garage would be nice though

I couldn't get to the link you listed without joining so I skipped it. I did do a look up for you. Double check your part numbers all but one look to be diffierent for the UK. The part number you need is 8E2 721 891 (the 3rd digit changes). I'll update the thread with all the correct part numbers just in case.

+1
Again another nice writeup from way up there at the top of the world.
Also broke a couple of the plastic clips on the back of the stock dead pedal. So anyone else doing this mod in the future do expect this to happen since it seems it was designed to never come out of the car.
Look at the size of that break pedal... Did you have to use a crow bar to pry that thing off? I hope you didn't hurt your back lifting it.
The removal of the brake pedal cover took a couple of seconds. Install was very easy as well. Being a little larger you could flex the rubber sides of the cover out and around the pedal itself. It lined up around the pedal nicely and with a firm push or two it was firmly locked in place. Gas pedal snapped on quickly and neatly as well. I didn't bother to trim the plastic dead pedal like I see you did above. I didn't really think the extra plastic dead pedal size was noticeable under the aluminum once it was installed. I did make a hole for the same tab you did and I also made a hole for the top tab, since I didn't cut the dead pedal down. The hardest thing to do was remove the dead pedal. It took about 10 minutes of leverage and I only broke two clips from the underside!

It's the RS6 brake pedal and I think it matches pretty damn well! lol Unfortunately with the Q5, it's tip or nothing on this continent. Very disappointing, but we do what we gotta do.
Being that I hadn't seen any other A4/A5/Q5 tips on the forum with this mod, I figured this would be the best place to post my pic. The Q5 and A4 share a lot and you guys are way more on it with modding than most Q5 owners. Keep it up!

Doesn't look bad, but you could have purchased the C6 RS6 full pedal set where all three pedals match for the B8 A4 Tip. I got mine from OEMplus.com.
Free!!! You must have nice friends or good connections! $350 seems like a lot for nice looking pedals but eventually i will get around to doing the RS6 pedals.
kinda unrelated but... speaking of oemplus.com could I theoretically purchase an S4 or similiar steering wheel with shift paddles on it and make them work with my P+ 10 non sport or sline b8?
Well you'd be looking for a tip wheel with the paddles unless you wanted something different than stock. I seen an airbag on ebay.de for around 200 I think but they are a bit rare. You can sometimes find the wheel complete which is your best bet. Wheels are around 180-300 depending on configuration.

Great write up! The local Audi parts guy sees me and asks about what I'm working on now. This is a definite interior mod that I will be doing soon. I am torn though between the look of the RS6 and RS4 pedals and which one to get. I am leaning toward easier to install.
RS6 is the only way if your car is a Tiptronic.... RS4 is the only way if you're a 6MT... the RS6 dead pedal doesnt have that lower left notch, the RS4 dead pedal does.

I have a Q5 and would like to perform the same mod.
As mine is Automatic, RS4 does not apply to me.
Question: Does both RS5 and RS6 gas/brake pedals fit my car? What is the difference? Thanks.
