Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

    OS: Windows 7
    Browser: Firefox

Having major problems with updated forum using firefox -- It looks great on IE though.
The menus, which should be in the upper right corner, appear along the left side, overlapping everything.
If I know how to post pictures, I would...

i can't get the search function to work.

Everything I search returns no matches whereas before the update I'd get lots of results.

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

Not really sure if this should go in the Forum Bug Report thread, as it applies to the entire site. Just a minor bug: The Audizine logo in the top-left is overlapping the navigation bar below it. The image size seems to be fine, it's just that Firefox is rendering it w/ a space between it and the very top of the browser window. The code that places the image along the very top of the browser window works fine in IE as I had suspected, tho there are some different rendering issues using that browser.

    Firefox 3.5.7 - PC - Windows XP SP3

    Great updates btw!

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

I am not sure if this is the proper place to post, but I am sure opinions are always appreciated. The new format is sort of..............wack. And I only use the term "wack" when something is really...........wack (like it belongs back in the 90s).

It's like a mix of the old AW format and something else. I know that many AW members found their way over here after AW changed their format, and making them happy is def a noble thing to do (if that was the intention). But the new format is just something that maybe I will just need to get accustomed to. Or maybe you are going to add a few more touch ups. And by a few, I mean a lot. I just feel that this new format was a step backwards, and not forwards. Either way, I'm not going anywhere.

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

I've not had any problems with Firefox. I see the same things whether I use FF or IE.

I noticed that the new user registration is down at the moment. Not sure it's a bug, or just something you have turned off.

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

No spaces in between paragraphs can make it into one big mess. Only way it seems to distinguish where one ends and another starts is if there is a space at the end of a sentence.

Hmm, or maybe it's just this way on my computer and others view it differrently. My computer is funny like that, sometimes.

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

    Few issues using Firefox.

1 - Not sure what is causing it, but the long posts in threads don't break where the sentence/thought ends and return in paragraph form. (ie. my window used to be able to read a thread without resizing the window, but now I have to side scroll to read things)

2 - Quick reply option appears missing? Not sure if intentional, but I liked the feature.

Re: Forum Bug Report & Feedback Thread

Previous issue I posted about the logo placement seems to have been fixed. Nice turnaround time!

Onto another issue - has image resizing been disabled or is there a setting related to that that I haven't set? I noticed a thread that has a rather large image attached to one of the posts and its width is governing the width of the UI, which wouldn't be a problem if the image were automatically resized down.

Also, quick question. Have we officially done away w/ the rep system?

My only bitch is that the individual posts inside the threads aren't date/time stamped. I don't wanna be necrobumping left and right, so is there any chance we can get that back?

    That as well.

I tried searching something as simple as "timing" for the keyword and nothing comes up.
well the error message is the standard, "no matching terms, please try other" etc.

This was another thing I was going to mention later on, but it's more of a usability issue than a bug. There is no longer a "breadcrumb" displayed at the top of the page to allow you to quickly see all of the latest threads in the current forum, and that was something I used often. Not particularly a deal-breaker for me; I just figured it'd be something I'd have to get used to but it would be nice to have it back since there is room to add it to the left of the current thread title.

Also, another minor bug. Some of the emoticon images aren't showing up, I assume either because their respective links are broken or because they haven't been uploaded. Here's a screenshot w/ what I'm talking about circled in red:

I have this problem too and totally agree, it just just throws it into one big jumble. Also not sure how I like all the test being wrapped in a box, especially since the signatures are also in a box and some are confusing if it actually text of the post or is someones sig, where before it was all all under a line for the sig which I believe was better to differentiate it from the post.

Rep system was done away with. Violations and reps/negative reps do not go hand in hand. Rep was based on people's opinions of you, while the violation(s) you received are due to violations of the terms of use

This one is really annoying, is there a way to get it back? Not a fan of the "Reply With Quote"-box popping up in the middle of the thread either.
Regarding the rest it's just a matter of getting used to =)

I'm using IE7 and besides some of the stuff already mentioned I have two more gripes:

    1. If your mouse is over an iFrame on the page, ALL of the text on the page underlines.

    2. It doesn't show how many new PMs you have, just the total number of messages in your inbox.

The new site looks nice though, once all of the bugs are worked out it will be a big improvement.

that is because the form widens to accommodate the large images - the old version automatically resized them to make sure that didn't happen...

and there are no more boxes around the text in replies

and we can have spaces between lines of text now too...

It's getting better and better by the hour. When the tinkering is done, I think we'll all be happy

Yeah that scrolling back and forth in this thread is annoying due to someone posting the screen shots above that are making it to wide. Also when I am typing I get a ton of words typed and see nothing showing up, so I then have to stop typing and let it pop up to see what I have typed and if I have screwed up anything. I guess you can say a big delay in the words showing up.

YA!!!! My issues (as well as others) are getting addressed.

Drop down menu thingy is working now too.
What about the "+ reply to thread" button at the top left under the forum path? Looks out of place.
Horizontally big on screen but nothing the zoom option can't fix.

Other than that "complaint", Im slowly adjusting to the better change.

    Looks good.
    Like the profile page setup.
Like the AZ title badge or whatever its called.
Like the sig display at the bottom of the reply submits.
Like the in-thread "Quote Reply" thing too, I don't have to scroll all the way down to paste what I copied.
    Like the overall facelift

    Forum Tools dropdown box bug

I noticed in the B6/B7 S4/RS4 forum that the Forum Tools dropdown box does not work correctly. I drop it down and click Mark This Forum Read and nothing happens. The dropdown box gets stuck open as well. The threads are not marked read until after I refresh the page. I've only noticed this in that particular forum, it works correctly in the B8 A5/S5 forum.

The classified section needs to be placed into the "intensive care" unit. That place looks hurt.

Images not downscaling is a big problem IMO. Also, where did the individual rep disappear to?
