Nice pics Marc! So beautiful this weekend, I have to say.

I've seen they are letting people through on the 18/38 - but only if they're local.

Check out www.rimoftheworld.net. It's got good info on these issues from a local perspective.

Feesh told me you'd been snowed into Arrowhead at the Lodge there...not a bad place to stay if you have to get stuck somewhere.

thanks for the link. i know it sucks, they are pissed. Caltrans was on a furlow on Friday. so they didn't start on that section between Snow Valley and the dam til Sat. i heard like 50 cars were stuck there overnight due to Avalanches.

here's another, Sat, road stops at Snow Valley. all captive skiers/boarders at Snow Valley! great right? nope.

credit card machines were down. cash only. Stupid.

at the bottom in Lucerne Val, the line to go up was prob 2 miles. waiting...

How much are lift tickets up at Bear? Like beginner?

tickets are much less than say Mammoth, maybe slightly less than some of the major Tahoe resorts.

weekdays are the ticket (like everywhere)...

wish i stayed another day..

adult tickets at snow summit are from $53-66. i didnt take that many pictures with this storm, which was pretty dumb of me, big bear has not seen this much snow in year. there saying we ended up with about 5 1/2 feet of snow.

My drive way after 2feet of snow was removed

day to of 3 of the storm

my front yard

the back deck

me trying to get about 3 feet of snow off the roof of the pilot, ended up just climbing up on the roof to do it by hand

me standing next to a 6 foot fence and i'm 6' tall i sunk in the snow about a 2'

Poopypants - i think you'll be fine. i saw this morning that they opened the roads up - still have to have chains on even with 4wd...unless w/ snow tires.

it should be great up there - hopefully for a while.

sure is nice to look towards the mtns and see white!

There were a crap load of folks on Friday when i went. Coudn't find parking at Snow Summit so we drove down to Big Bear Mountain and got there before it got packed too. It had a good 5 -10 minute wait in line for the lifts. Fuggin people everywhere eating $hit and gettin in my way... lol There is still like 15' piles of snow everywhere and like 4' snow banks along the roads and highways.

well it rained till about 5am, but when i got up at 7:00 there was about 2-3" on the ground then it started to rain again and now it pretty much gone, and anything left is just slush
