WOOT! Glad to finally see this. Will be ordering soon.

Question: Am I going to get more road noise/vibration by going with option #3 with the full metal tierods vs. #2 with the rubber dampening ones?

This is my daily driver, but I'm not hyper sensitive. Just curious.

Re: Official: FCP Groton Control Arm Kit

Ok, so if I'm understanding this correctly, the only difference between the 3 options are in the Tie Rods.

    1. Partial replacement
    2. Full replacement
    3. Full replacement and metal

Is the correct? Would you recommend #2 over #3?

Also, could you give me some info on the motor mounts you carry? Are they OEM standard, better/stiffer than OEM?

Thanks, can't wait to make the order.

Yes, that is essentially the different between the three kits. You really can't go wrong with either 2 or 3. You will not notice any difference in road vibration or steering sensitivity. Check out this tech sheet explaining the difference between OE and Full Metal. http://images.imcparts.net/shared/do...W_06.03_en.pdf

What is your year make and model for the engine mounts? We deal with over 30 suppliers in and outside of the United states and have access to nearly every Audi/VW replacement part (we can even quote you dealer items) - so I will provide you with a bunch of brands and options.

Is this similar to Stern's adjustable front control arm? (even though I have a b7 as well)

I believe the only difference between the B5 and the B7 kits are the front lower (straight) control arms <--correct me if I am wrong

B5 chassis takes either 4d0407151p or 4b3407151c front lower control arms (depending on steel or aluminum uprights)

B7 chassis takes 8e0407151M front lower control arms

So, if you are looking for a B7 kit, just add $40 to the price of the three options.
Please, just double check with me by giving me your make model and year so I can verify the pieces

No, these are stock replacements (actually an upgrade for some A4 and S4 models) and they are not adjustable. Stern has a phenomenal product but a huge price tag.

Thanks for the clarification. I meant to say do you recommend #2 over #1 as in is the full replacement easier to install than the partial?

I have a 2000 Audi S4, 6spd as far as the motor mounts go. I'd be happy with a marginal performance upgrade over OEM.

    Thanks.

I will be installing these myself and I'm wondering if I need to add 10% from the purchase price to "buy" the lifetime warranty? Do I have to email warranty@fcpgroton.com or do I just automatically add it from the paypal or maybe you throw in the lifetime warranty for GB purchasers?

Once you have finished completing your purchase, simply email warranty@fcpgroton.com with a lifetime warranty request and they will lead you through the steps. Unfortunatley because we are giving away the control arm kits at such a low price, I can't throw in the lifetime warranty for free (however all kits come standard with a 1 year warranty).

I have these on my B5 A4 (aluminum) version. I love them, but my outer tie rod on my driver side has started to slightly leak. If you can do anything for me about a replacement or something please let me know by pm.

They currently have 7k miles on them.

Can you explain leak? Is it leaking at the boot? Did the boot tear?

I would deduct the price you paid for the uppers out of the kit that you would like to purchase. You can email me scottd@fcpgroton.com.

It would not make a difference - the rubber boot tore (thats why it is leaking grease - the actual joints or shaft did not fail or break)

This is awsome, I've already purchased two complete sets from you guys in the past and have always been happy, especially with the customer service. I'll be ordering another package here shortly for my new S4.
