    Disable TPMS

Sorry if this was already asked/posted, but I did not find it. Is it possible to disable TPMS on a 2009 A4 Quattro? I have winter rims/tires that don't have the sensors, and just want to disable it all together. I have access to a vag-com

As well, for some reason the day time running lights are the high beams. (I brought the car from the US to Canada). How do I just get the regular lights on.

    Thanks all.

If you check the vagcom thread I'm sure you'll find your answers fairly quick. There is information on turning on TPMS so I'm sure you can try and figure out how to turn them off (if possible) and there is tons of information on the DRL settings. Thats why it's a stick

    Re: Disable TPMS

I don't think there's a way to disable TPMS. I had the same problem as well with my VMR's (no TPMS) and the TPMS error would always go off. My Audi tech friend looked through his VAG-Com and couldn't find anything to disable it or the error.

    Try this
    WITH A ROSS-TECH VAG-COM TOOL:
LOG on to [17] - Instrument Cluster Audi A4 (8E) Instrument Cluster
    (8EC/8ED/8HE)
    GO TO: Adaptation
Channel 061: CAN-Databus Comfort (Installation List)
+00512 = Tire Pressure Control (Optional)
Subtract 512 from number given...Bam your done!!!! No more TPMS!!!

    Re: Disable TPMS

If your TPMS is the indirect ABS sensor type, try in reverse (as in 1/checked to 0/unchecked etc.) the codings here for "Enabling tyre pressure monitoring". It may require setting codes in three modules:

    Re: Disable TPMS

Or maybe you have the "4C - Tire Pressure Monitoring II" unit installed??

Maybe the coding is in the Long coding section.

It won't work - because the B8 model uses long coding

    Re: Disable TPMS

So from what I am reading, there is no easy way to do this with the vag-com and the B8 model? Strange. Really, there is no way to disable this?

Guess I'll have to put up with the warning until spring when I put my other wheels back on.

Do you have the "4C - Tire Pressure Monitoring II" unit available in VCDS??

If yes, what coding options are there??

Why not just at the TPMS to it? It is not that expensive.

    Re: Disable TPMS

I have a Canadian 2010 A4 S-Line quattro, which is claimed to have TPMS. I brought it to the tire place to get my snow tires mounted on my S-Line rims. There were no TPMS sensors on the wheels. So with the TPMS we have in Canada, you should be able to put on different rims and tires without worrying about TPMS or spending money on sensors.

Isn't it only so on the MY2010+ ??

I think the previous model (MY2008 and MY2009) do have the wheel sensors.

BUT if it is the case of no sensors, then you can use this how-to to disable TPMS: http://audiforum.us/74486-post30.html

I tried searching for a few months with no luck. I finally ended up just buying additional sensors instead of having to switch back and forth. At $65 a piece I don't consider that cheap.

I hate the search on this forum, i can't figure it out. the vag-com thread has like 300 replies and most are just someone blabbing. I have a 2009 A4 with the sensors in the wheels. Can I diable them using VAG-COM? Other than the cable, do I have to buy anything else?

I'm also looking to disable this if anyone can help.

Or if someone can provide the proper part number for replacement TPMS.

    Thanks

Maybe this thread from another forum can help you ??

    http://forums.audiworld.com/showpost...41&postcount=9

I disabled the unit in the gateway, and re-coded the TPMS (65) to 0202125, which DISABLES the TPMS.
So if this works, then it is:

    1) "Go to [19 - CAN Gateway], and remove check mark at TPMS"
    2) "Go to [65 - Tire Pressure Monitoring] and re-code to 0202125" - I don't know what your current coding is, but here you can see what the bits stands for: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...itoring#Coding

If you have [4C - Tire Pressure Monitoring II] instead of 65, then you can see the bits here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index..._Monitoring_II

I haven't tried the coding my self (I don't have TPMS with sensors).

I tried this, but don't know how to do the recode part. Mine is coded OCD154 currently and won't accept the 0202125.
