I just read the tread I am in the middle of a similar mod. I am putting a boost gauge in my mirror but I replaced my windshield and ordered the rain/light sensor mirror cost me about $160. I will try to contact ECS and try to work with them to make something happen. On the other hand I know how to take the mirror apart and off the windshield to rout the wires.

Can anyone confirm that the mount is the same for 2009 models? I've retrofitted a dimming mirror into my Acura RSX, so I'm familiar with the wiring, but wanted to make sure that the mount would be the same.

Has anyone replaced their 2009 non dimming mirror with a dimmer?

It depends, if the car has rain sensors then it is just a swap between the mirrors plus wiring. If you have a standard mirror which has nothing to it you will need a new windshield.

So if I understand the latest update, as long as you have a Premium Plus (w/ rain/light sensors) all I need to find is the actual auto-dim mirror. I'll be able to remove the old one and install the new one without much trouble? Its if you have a P- that it becomes even more work correct? Now I just need to get my hands on the actual mirror and hopefully a lot cheaper than Ive seen. I went to the Audi dealership today to pick up my exhaust tips and I asked about the mirror and wood trim. The mirror was around 600 or $700 and the wood trim pieces were over $1000.

That sounds about right, the two mirrors should be a simple swap but remember you still have to wire the power harness for the mirror. The price you got for the mirror is the one with all the bells, that includes compass plus everything else. The right mirror should cost around 300 and the trim pieces sound about right but if you spend 1000 on them you should just get yours done in carbon fiber same price.
