Lawdogg, you going to keep the stealth white? Or have it painted flat black like your vr4?
Probably going to keep it white, to contrast with the old flat black car and be kind of like the ghost of the old car, something cheesy like that. :p
The flat black on the VR-4 was actually a rattle can job I did in my garage. Did a three-stage primer / gloss black / matte clear process, used like 14 cans.

Nice!!! That looks phenomenal ... I had a Ninja 500R to learn to ride on years ago, and have been wanting a bigger bike since ... that looks like fun.

And the new project

How it sits right now..
put this in last night
Lawdogg i really like ur vr4. Ur starting to change my mind about them. Just dont like the first gen's.
Ill be back in a Euro one day but these things are so cheap. You just have to keep in mind in the end its still a Nissan. Or a Honda. But thats what part out threads are for. They are Fun to keep in the garage and work on when you have time. Its like a life size model car for me.

So, lets say in the Mustang world, the SVT Cobra is the king, in the C5 world, the RS6 or AR are top notch. Whats the "oh wow" car for these (not just Z's, but Jap cars in general)? Certain rare model? Special motor/trans package?

Your flat black vr4 was actually an inspiration for me to do mine in flat black..... but then something broke soooo yea... there went the money for that

Thats gonna be diff. for every person. In general, hot engine/trans combo:
Nissan - SR20 with Z32 gearbox
- RB20/25/26/30
- VG30
- VQ35
Toyota - 4A-GE
- 3S-GTE with E153 trans
- 2JZ-GTE with W-58 or Getrag 6speed
- the 3VZ-FE is an incredibly strong v6 thats starting to get some attention
Mitsubishi - 4G63
Honda - A lot of their 4-bangers have shitloads of aftermarket support and have been built to very high power levels. Besides that, I don't know much about Honda specifics.
My opinions for cars:
Supra (Getrag 6 speed TT)
MR2 T - 93+ for wheels and lower suspension, improved LSD and synchros
- 94+ for taillights and better 1-piece wing
- 95+ for gen III 3S-GTE
- 98+ for even better, adjustable wing
z32 300zx(95 pre OBD2 Lot of options.)
Mistubishi vr4 (dont know much)
Honda/ Acura NSX ('02+ for facelift, but pre-facelift looks better IMO)
AE86/88 Corolla GTS
Alltrack celica 3sgte
nissan 240sx s12 s13 s14 s15..
Skyline if your rich (r32 best looking IMO)
subi 2.5rs
Old school
72 (Hakosuka) Skyline GT-R
73 (Kenmeri) Skyline GT-R
1970-77 1st gen celica
toyota 2000 gt
nissan 240z

After much google imaging... I think I like the 240sx and 300zx the best. The NSX is nice, but I can't find one that is all done up that I actually like.
Thanks for that list though, brought up some nice car that i've never considered before.
SICK..... have any pictures of it? How much power did it make?
I will throw some pics up. Never dyno'd or went to the track with it. It was laggier than my K04 2.7T but made a lot of power up top. High speeds were great. I had it up to ~175, even have a pic of my speedo @ ~162..
Below is before I added spacers to bring front wheels flush:

for now i have my 89 w124 300e, plans are manual swap and full race roll cage for some drift fun, but most of all i want to do it w124 truck/ute ;)

Agh! That sucks! :( Gonna go for it on any other cars?

ENDEE666, the car looks good she must have been such a beast. Which car is faster and/or more fun to drive?
Easy answer- I like the A6 much more now. The two are too different to compare. The A6 is much more useable power, wider power band, and the AWD makes it always useful. The Z was very tricky with that power. The reason you never see them in drifting is that once the rear breaks loose slightly, it spins since its so short. The Z was also really tough off the line. It would either spin the tires or wheel hop. That car is built for circuit tracks, not to launch or drag. But the guy who built my Z had one that ran high 9's and low 10s. Up top the thing was awesome tho. The A6 is obviously roomier, quieter, more comfortable. And I love the fact the A6 is such a sleeper. People expected the Z to be fast, the A6 is a great surprise..
Comparing the two is tough. Both awesome.

Thats kind of what the feeling i got was, but the turbos in my 300zx are only slighty bigger than stock and will probably only make high 400s to the wheels, but there have been people to break 500 with the right supporting mods. So the lag proobably will be good. But it in a couple of years hopefully ill K04 my audi and still own my 300zx. But i definitly understand the power and comfort of the audi, love that about the car.
I had 335/30/17 Toyo R888's on my Cobra and could still spin through first or nailing the gas at 5k in third would do it too. LOL
AWD FTW yes, but burnouts were fun lol.
If I ever pickup one of these things, I think the 3000GT or 300ZX would be my choice. Seem to be as close to the C5 platform as possible (AWD-TT)
300zx is not AWD Vin.. And with regular tires, I sometimes spun 3rd at highway speeds if I went to pass.. Not ashamed to say it scared the shit out of me lol...

Well, my 'real' project isn't from japan... but I'll play anyways... :)
1985 Audi 4kq that is undergoing a mildly built AAN (Rods/head-studs/bearings/springs) with a Holset H1C/K26 hybrid... swap. I also have converted it over to 5 lug and threw on some Porsche Non-S Boxster brakes and a bunch of other little bits. Here are a few pics ... :)
Currently, the engine is pulled back out for the build up.
1985 Audi 4000S Quattro: AAN Under the knife / 2003 Audi A6 4.2 / 1990 Nissan Pathfinder SEV6 (Not stock)
Now THAT is a great project. What kind of engine performance do you expect? Transmission?
Well, no one that I know of has ran a H1C/K26 hybrid on an AAN, so right now it's all guess work. I hope to see 350 to 400whp out of the set up on 93oct. The transmission is the stock 016, and it should hold up for a good long while. This is only stage 'one' so far. I have a 2nd engine that is going to be way more built, I want to make it a 2.6 stroaker or something like that and shoot for 800ish crank. :)
