Well I havnt really posted in here for a while so I figured post some recent pictures. They are just crappy, repetitive ( I lack photo creativity) pictures from a point and shoot that I snapped the other day after washing. I just wanted to get some pictures of the new stuff that was done. Maybe one day I'll get a legit photoshoot or something. Car looks wayyy better in person, these pics dont do it any justice cause you cant really see the small stuff like the black painted calipers and stuff
Anyways, I finally got around to taking my bumper off, so I was able to CC, add the new DTM grille, replace my headlights/fog lights
I also have my side markers and calipers painted, cupra lip, and a few other things I cant really remember... Hope you guys like. I am going for a clean, simple look. Comments and suggestions are welcome...

hot ride.
I toyed with the idea of a black out grille, but I figured since my wheels were polished, and I still had the chrome trim around the windows, that the chrome on the grille would match it all so I went with the pearl black DTM grille instead

nice man, one question on the cupra lip though, it looks like its "sagging" in the middle, where as on other cars i havent seen that, did you trim the middle stubs at all or just bolt right on?

keep it this way, I kept the chrome on my grill and am so happy I did it. However with the silver car you might consider blacking out the trim only

It's not sagging, all Cupra's are like that, it's part of the design.

Yep, I agree with you here. It does look like its sagging a bit. Its not nearly as noticable in person. For some reason pictures make cars look higher, and it shows more of the cupra lip
Yes, I did trim the center posts, but not enough and I didnt realize that I wished I had trimmed them more until it was already bolted on.
I considered taking the lip off, trimming the posts a bit more, and re attatching, but I'm scared it will attatch on lose since the screws will be going through the same holes again ya know...

and what he said. I think its a little of both. A mixture of me not trimming the posts enough, and the lip just naturally dipping like that.

What exactly do you mean? Like black out the chrome trim on the grille, but keep the chrome strips on the filler plate? This is something I seriously considered... So when I get bored, I might do this just to switch it up a little

I really don't think it's sagging, all the cars with Cupra's that I've seen look exactly like that.

Yeah its not exactly 'sagging' . I think more of what I was trying to say was this... Look at the second picture really closely, and you can see that the center posts arnt even touching the bumper, they are just kinda hanging there. And its because I didnt put any screws theres.. because I didnt trim the center posts flat enough, so if I attached screws there, it gave it a weird curve. So I had to just leave it hanging there like that..

very clean ride. one very minor suggestions would be to get the chrome turn signal bulbs to complete the clear corner mod. altogether its very classy and understated... just the way I like it

mm yea - liking it a lot. I'm seeing some doorblades in your future? I think black ones would look cool with the black cupra R Lip. I think that might be a unique mod!

they are chrome... just when you take a picture of the lights the yellow somehow shines through. but you cant see any yellow at all when looking in person

Yes it's part of the design, but it is not intended to fit our cars.
I don't think OP trimmed the sticks in the middle or the ends. Looks like the ends follow the bumper and point downwards. Supposed to trim it so that it ends before the bumper starts sloping down. Well you don't have to do this but it just looks cleaner this way.

exactly it keeps the contrast, but the chrome trim against the silver gets lost, so it looks best black.

I sure did. I trimmed the middle posts to like half of their original size, and I trimmed every single raise on all of the tabs along the lip.

heres quick picture i just took. i used plasti-dip on it. i think it came out OK. i the reason i think its just 'ok' is because it wasnt that drastic of a change over stock. it was very subtle. i am thinking about having it professionally painted a gloss black to match the grille up front.

Yep. There are two screws under it that you can see easily if you pop your head down there. Then you just pick a side and slowly but forcefully start pulling the valence out and all of the tabs will start releasing one by one. VERY easy to do

Good call I think. Blacked out grills only work for me in certain cases. I think everyone's doing it because it's easy to do, not always because it looks better.
