I tried a new polish yesterday, 13 hours of work later here are a few pics snapped this morning on the other side of the tracks. The polish is called Acrylic Werks and can be used on the painted surfaces as well as all of the glass, black plastic trim, weatherstip, etc. It removes all of your current polymer wax and surface contaminants, and leaves a nice clean acrylic coated finish that lasts a year.

Re: I tried a new polish, took some pics, blah blah blah
No, I could try to take some though. My girlfriends out right now, but maybe later on this evening. It's pretty loud, but since it's just an axle back it still retains the factory resonators so I don't have any drone.

I used this Acrylic Werks product. It's not a wax per say, but it is basically an acrylic paint sealant that also takes on the role of a cleaner. This stuff removed contaminants from my paint that I didn't even know I had. It leaves the best shine out of anything I've ever used, and I'm an auto body tech who's used everything out there. I bought it from a fellow member of the RS6.com forum who is a distributor of this product.

$27 a bottle. Pretty spendy, but well worth it in my opinion. It replaced quite a few products for me, I used it on the the body panels, all the glass, the mirrors, the wheels inside and out, the grilles, all of the weatherstripping, and the head/ tail lamps. I'll be ordering 2 more bottles for my other cars.

And I like to drink I stopped and had a beer and a smoke in between every panel.

And every mile just a great as the last, eh? If I ever had the opportunity to even see a RS6 let alone ride in one. I think Id be happier than a kid in a candy store. Ive only seen one RS4(b7) in the flesh, and geez did it get my dick hard haha. Ive seen a fair amount of S4s, S6s, and even one S8. But gawd, a RS6 is my all time favorite.
Seriously, please lay this to rest for me. Yeah! The car looks phenomenal and the paste works great, but do you really have to change the timing belt every 30K?
If not I am buying one tomorrow. dude, look at it, I want one!

Every 40k miles. The first one was under warranty at 35k, then 75k, 115k, etc. I did mine myself, it's not that big of a deal.

The best part about the Acrylic Werks is that it has a melting point 3 times that of wax. Polished rotor hats? No problem, I polished them last fall and they still look like new after an entire winter.

the timing belt service really isn't that bad. Pat, do they cost roughly the same as a typical timing belt kit for us less fortunate c5 owners? Its just the cost of everything else that would make me cringe :(. But then again if I had the money, it wouldn't be a big deal Because I wouldnt use her as a DD. Love the car!! Keep Her perdy.

I did it at some point over the winter, I can't recall. I started a thread to gloat about it though.

Yeah, I live in the St. Paul area (actually a suburb of St. Paul, little known St. Paul Park). Have you heard of the Cars & Coffee events in Chanhassen? I'm there every month, the next one is actually this weekend, Saturday the 5th.

I really don't give a shit what anyone says the C5 RS6 is the best looking Audi and the best looking mid-sized sedan EVER......i just wish i would have got one when i had a chance, all the bad stories scared me away, instead i got a 2.7T and it prolly has just as many problems......Fuck me right? When i sell this Porsche i just might take my car and trade it in on one and pay the rest :) and V8Weight, that looks amazing! nice work!
BTW How much is the complete kit for the timing belt job?
BTW How much is the complete kit for the timing belt job?
If I remember correctly I paid just under $800 for the timing belt kit (including water pump and all the addtl. parts) as well as the all the other 75k mile service items (spark plugs, fuel filter, air filters, cabin filter, oil and filter, crush washer).

So damn beautiful.... A guy around here has an RS6 with exhaust work that sounds glorious. I can hear the turbos spooling from miles away. Put up some vids when you get a chance!

My kind of attention to details. My aluminum control arms are polished as well, lol.
that shit looks amazing! and that picture from C&C looks awesome. i can only imagine the paint depth youd get on a dark color. is that the only product you used? no clay bar or anything? it looks amazing.
