I was just transplanted down here (Rio Rancho) from the Denver area. I have a '05 DG A4 with a little work, still basically stock though.
I'm in the market for some performance upgrades and desperately want some new rims/tires.
Are there any good performance shops in the area?
And I know it may be a very biased question, but what is the preferred tire to run down here? I've got some Yokohama all-seasons right now, are all-seasons necessary?
I keep meaning to get to one of the meets, something always seems to come up though.
Welcome and as for shops there are a couple the local one that we use are Speed Lab their not bad as for wheels in town ABQ and Rio snow is very rare but out side the area and up north it can get a good amount but I normally run summer or all weather tires year round and I have never had any issues
mods: Koni coils, suede door and dash trim, BSR cat back, samco hoses, TT injectors Unitronic Stage 2, water/meth and brushed aluminum trim and badges

Thanks in advance.
If you can handle the snow in Denver, you can handle the winters here in summer tires. The biggest thing to worry about here in the winter is the OTHER drivers. I grew up in Montana, and have to laugh at how little it takes to close down schools & such. 3" or 4" of snow on the highway & people drive 10mph, its quite a site. lol
Where do you lowered guys go to get your alignments done? Just ordered all new control arms and Stasis Street Sport Coilovers ! Also coming is a JHM short throw and Vast water/meth! Will give updates as parts arrive! No more 4x4 for me!
Finally I was gonna say you can't bring that suv to the meets anymore. lol I take mine to the firestone on coors near alameda they have a flat drive on alinement rack and they had no issues getting my car on there

Blvd Performance is where I get mine done. I know the owner & they do awesome work.
They can also corner balance for ya too, which I have found to be very important with coilovers.
Give them a call & talk to Billy, He'll take care of ya.
I thought I would x-post this over here for those of you who don't get on VWVortex...
"This Sunday the 24th of October, from Abq exit Tijeras highway 337 to highway 217, then North on 217 back to I40 and return to Abq. Approximately 1-2 hours. Meet at the Smiths parking lot on Tramway and Central then have lunch at Il Vicino on Monty and Juan Tabo afterward. You can either come along or not."
I personally won't be there b/c my RS4 will be officially sold as of tomorrow, and I'm sure you could guess... my allroad is still not done! FML
