I haunted Auto Trader for about 4 years till I found my silver 2004 S4 6MT Avant with 32,xxx miles in San Diego CA. Flew out the next week and drove it home to Cincinnati in May 2010.

Picked up from Rusnak, Thousand Oaks from Venice, CA. It was the only Avant I found at the time being back in September 2010. Lost my car due to an accident, and I need a replacement car immediately (even though I'm still hurting from my car crash). It was between a 2007 A4 Sedan in Blue FF only, or a white 2007 A4 Wagon quattro (didn't know what an Avant means back then). My brother drove me around town since I have no car, and I need to get one that day. Why I picked the wagon instead of the sedan? Well, quattro all wheel drive, roof rails, and the space of an SUV (I was shopping for the Q7 back then), but got sold on the Avant.

I got lucky, I had a RSS Feed setup to troll craigslist for "Audi Avant" and a 6MT popped up at the local dealer. I took a late lunch and walked over to the dealer and left with the car. ;)

I was prepared to fly anywhere in the US then drive it home, but i got lucky, and found my (soon to pick up on Monday) 2004 Arctice White A4 Avant USP an hour from home up in Denver. Lucky lucky!

After searching for a while, I bought my '04 A6 Avant off eBay, sight-unseen. The pre-purchase inspection checked out, so I didn't want to waste any more time.
First thought was to fly over to Chicago, and drive from Deerfield back to NYC, all of 800+ miles (or 14 hours). I ended up transporting it; dropped off at shipper's NJ terminal, then delivered on flatbed.

I got lucky to find one down the road from my parents house. So i had a good excuse to spend the weekend with family. Traded my 04 a4 sedan for a 03 a6 avant. Got realy lucky that it only had 70k and got it for a steal.

I travelled 3600 miles from England to Toronto and then drove another 50 miles from the airport :D I got lucky finding my manual Avant without having to travel the Earth. It was on the way to my new home from Toronto Pearson airport.

Fort Lauderdale to Boulder - 2000+ miles. 2008 S-line Ti avant with 6MT. Would have shipped it, but seller dropped price $6k and was moving to NYC the following week, so I didnt feel comfortable blindly wiring $22,500 to a stranger. Drive sucked - but after owning an S4 in the past, I was thrilled to pull 500 on one tank and average 31+mpg!

It was worth it...car is showroom new and I would have never found another at that price with those miles.
