How far did you have to go to get your avant?

I think its pretty obvious that the avants are a rare breed of s4. I am interested in seeing how far people have actually traveled(or had shipped) to get theirs. Ill start off

Back in February 1999 I got mine from San Diego to Woodland Hills California, 4 hours in some traffic. I didn't even test drive it first. I searched for three months to find my B5 Avant with sport and a manual.

i know where you got yours from

went to same place, which is about a 50min drive to look at a W8 passat and saw the A4 AVANT and had to have it.

My 1st Audi B6 A4 (sold) - Albuquerque, NM to Cleveland, OH --> ~1600 miles

My B5 S4 Avant - Albuquerque, NM to SLC, UT --> ~800 miles

My '04 Allroad - Lovington, NM to Greenville, SC ---> ~1500 miles

I've never purchased any of my Audi's remotely close to where I live. You have to drive to find what you REALLY want!

Both of my current avants are 6spd and it took me over a year to find a low mileage b5 and took me just about 3 mos to find a low mileage allroad

What originally started as a hunt for a B5 S4 avant in early May of 09, ended with me flying to Vermont and driving back to Texas with a B6 S4 avant at the end of August.

2000 miles and loved every minute of it.

3,3** miles was a great drive id do it again took 3 days with around 5-6 hours sleep each night. Would totaly do it again i but id take longer and do some stuff along the trip.

I got lucky and found mine less than 10 miles away through a mutual mechanic. The car wasn't even for sale, but my mechanic mentioned to him that I would be interested if he did sell it and a month later I had a car!

Went to IKEA in the morning and loaded up the Passat wagon, decided to check out the Audi dealer nearby, they had a 2008 S4 Avant brand new, couldn't resist, bought the Avant, spent about 30minutes unloading the faux wood furniture out of the Passat and into the S4....that was an expensive trip to IKEA.

I live in Knoxville, TN. Flew to Cleveland, OH and drove it back roughly 500 miles. Best road trip I have ever had. Nothing like riding in your new Avant for the first time. Any other car and it would have been a dreaded trip.

Any other car, you wouldn't have looked so hard for or travelled so far to get.
