Thanks, yeah its Ukrainian, good eye! Most don't even know what UA means, only know "D" for Germany. Blame poor geography knowledge!.lol
Btw, just noticed right now that you are in Sac. Would be nice to see your ride in person on some kind of local Bay Area meet. One is coming this Saturday but it will rain that day for sure and I don't think you would want your Cabby to get wet.
That's why I'm not installing BY plates. There even less people know what that means... lol.
And this is not a big deal getting my cabby wet, I'm not afraid of that. I just don't think I'll be able to go there this Sat. I usually go to Eurosunday meets in Sac on every 4th Sunday. Have you heard of it? You should have those meets in Bay Area as well.

Well, here we are always busy with something such as work and school. We used to have those 3 years ago, then it ended, people either can't make it or there was just too of a small crowd. I was at the EuroSunday one time last year when it came here to San Jose, that was about it.

Oh Yes! That baby takes off quick! Do they ticket drivers in Norway for no catalysator since Norway is well known for freshest air in Europe I must say. Or at least Nordic countries and Switzerland.

I can lose my plates for driving without catalysator, but they rarely control it. My car is even spitting flames sometimes when shifting, without the catalysator! haha
I found the wheels on a 1982 Audi 100 in a wreckers and refurbished them. Painted in Diamond Silver Metallic, same colour my B1 was originally. (He was green when I found him)
This is what he looked like when I got him in 2008

Yah, i used to have a BY sticker on my car in highschool, all the stupid rednecks thought I was a homosexual, you know because it must mean "bysexual".....arkansas

Funny... lol...!
That's one more reason! Thanks for sharing!
cleanest one of these I have come across in 20 years. Interior is super clean and the body has no rust or body filler. still needs some work, but most things work great on the car : power windows, sunroof, door locks, odometer, A/C, heater, door handles, clutch/tranny and especially the engine. the car is actually pretty fast. faster than a couple of Coupe Quattros i drove last year.
needs brakes, tires , struts, and have to figure out why the fuel gauge isn't registering. are the fuel pumps normally kind of noisy ?
Your fuel gauge could not be reading due to the fuel sender float being filled with fuel. It could also be the wiring. I would take out the fuel sender unit and see what the condition of that is. At the same time, I would also jump the sender wire to see if you get any reading on the gauge by doing this. I have the same problem with my 86 CGT. The fuel pumps can be a bit noisy from what I've noticed on my car.
As much as I love my Audi 80 1993 model, has anyone had problem getting access to the rocket cover over the engine bay? My picture shows numerous components over the cover preventing easy access to adjust the overhead cam. Is it due to bad design by Audi or the fact that I'm only a DIY mechanic for that matter.

Thanks for the tip. now I just have to remove the trunk liner without damaging it, (which is in perfect condition) to get to the sender.
