VR6 is almost a straight 6. They are angled @ 15o instead of traditional 45o like the 2.7T. Both 'banks' also share a single head, which really makes it look like a straight. They wanted to cram a V6 into the MK3 GTI/Jetta & B4 Passat and this was the only feasible way. It's a fucking badass motor, and I miss mine in my Mk4..

I don't really care wtf it is, but "badass" definitely comes to mind... All I want to know is, why the hell we can't make that kinda of power with the 2.7. I mean the displacement is almost the same (2.8 vs. 2.7), unless USP bored it out and did some extra head work (which I kinda figure they did).

Or maybe it's because of the configuration of the VR6 (a hybrid between a V-6 and a I-6) and the single head that makes it way more efficient...? IDK.
