    A6 XM install - no sound

    anyone have any idea why i can't get any sound out of the XM sat channel? just installed the xm module, appears to be getting all the channels properly. Can scroll through the channels fine, but no sound coming out at all.

    Any advice?

    What year A6 is this? The XM unit you installed is an OEM unit?

    I have 2004 A6 s-line

    I bought part # 8E0035593A off ebay, brand new, in box audi XM module.

    Car seems to have Symphony II head unit, no bose.


    any suggestions?

    Just figured mine out! The car had an iPod interface installed which uses the SAT port on the Symphony unit. Had the radio pulled out, removed the iPod interface, plugged the SAT cable back in the head unit - VOILA! SAT sound! 8)

    Props to Livermore, CA Audi (Dave and Johnny). They spent time and effort to figure this out with me, at no cost. They have my business next go around.

    If this is your problem and wish to keep both this part will do the trick.
