DO NOT PM ME OR EMAIL ME ABOUT THESE CALIPERS. I DO NOT SELL THESE AND I WILL NOT HELP YOU FIND THEM. SERIOUSLY GUYS, PLEASE STOP CONTACTING ME ABOUT THIS STUFF. ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED IS HERE ON THE THREAD AND I WILL NO LONGER BE RESPONDING TO ANY PM's OR EMAILS ABOUT THESE BRAKES
I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE FOR SALE SO DO NOT ASK PLEASE THANK YOU
I know some people have been talking about the new Cayenne brake kits now available out there. Just wanted to point out for local peeps, that the Volkswagen Touareg uses the same caliper, just without that fancy silver or red paint that says "Cayenne". They are 6 piston, made by Brembo. These are the same calipers used on the 997 Porsche and other high performance exotic sports cars.
They make the Touareg caliper in both 330mm and 350mm rotor. I have been trying to source these with the intent of possibly selling a cheap kit. Curious if there is any interest, and also to show people how cheap you can get these things. Cause if there is interest, I can buy some pairs in bulk for an even better price.
The 330mm rotor calipers can fit under stock 17s. The 350mm calipers use 345mm rotors, they require 18s or larger. Both these calipers can have the lines/bleeder valves reversed, just like the Cayenne calipers, so the pistons are in the correct order (small to large).
Cayenne calipers sell for $500-$800 for the pair online, unloaded, and are getting picked up by lots of tuners so they are scarce. I just bought my second pair of Touareg calipers for $130 shipped to my door. For 330mm applications, Mercedes Benz C240 Sport rotors are utilized; they require slight enlarging of the wheel holes and the center bore. Any machine shop could do this in 15 minutes. 350mm calipers utilize the Mercedes Benz ML55 rotors, which only require relief of the center bore (can be done with a dremel; lug holes are already proper).
Cost (building your own BBK)
Calipers: $130
Rotors: $240 for C240 and $200 for ML55
Hardware (either sourced from JHM, more $$$, or self sourced): $65
Brake Pads: $100-$150 depending on aggressiveness
Brake Lines: $100 (or cheaper) for stainless RS4 lines
That is only $635 in parts. I am considering selling this kit pre-assembled and ready to bolt up, for $900. Don't have that much time, so perfectly happy passing on the info on how to get these calipers so cheap. With a nice powdercoat or spray at home, they'd look the exact same as the Cayenne calipers, at 1/5 the price.
They bolt up to B5 S4 uprights, no adapter required. The advantage of the 330mm spec is that simple spacers can be added later on to achieve a 345 or larger rotor. They also bolt up to other vehicles, but I'm not sure on that.

thats a great deal you found.. i might pick up a set of those calipers if they can replace my existing 4pot brembos since i need to get them refinished anyways.. hmm

Apparently they bolt up to B6 A4/S4 as well, but don't quote me on that. There are lots of rotor options, so you could add $250 to the cost of rotors if you wanted some vented 2 piece from like JHM. Thats still hundreds cheaper then buying it from a vendor. Not that I don't support vendors, but some things are just too expensive to buy from a company that has overheads and margins. Either build this yourself, or I will build, test, machine, clean, and paint a kit for you for $900.
I personally do not need 2 piece $500-$600 rotors, as the C230 Sport rotors are cross-drilled from the factory for the Sport brakes, hence the higher price compared to the larger ML55 (which are plain). You can find cross-drilled and slotted rotors for a bit more on aftermarket sites. Upgrade to 2 piece later on if you want the weight savings.
This is a painted Touareg caliper (from vortex).
I'll have my kit done next week. I'm just waiting for hardware and brake lines. Went with Hawk HPS cause I got em for a great deal.

so will these work with the JHM kit that they sell with the Cayenne calipers since you say they are the same thing?
yeah, they are the same thing. reversible lines and all. just not painted and they make a 330mm option; whereas the Cayenne are only "made" for 350mm rotors (we use 345). They are made by Brembo just the same. If there is any other difference, maybe there is some weight savings? But I cannot see one single difference, pads are the same, etc.
There are different iterations of this caliper for different mounting options and rotor sizes. big thread about this on the B5 S4 forum, its about 10 pages long I think now. great lists of the exact hardware needed, etc. I can pass it along if anyone would like.
PS. The rears are even cheaper and are 4 piston. They would require an adapter to be custom machined. thinking of looking into that too, and utilizing the easy available B7 S4 rear 300mm rotors.
The Best Things in Life Are Free... Or Heavily Discounted!
So you can just bolt up the 330mm and go, where as the 350mm would need a spacer on the caliper correct?
I am really looking into this idea. I like the price of this kit compared to the JHM cayenne kit they have. Would you mind posting that thread about these calipers?

The 350mm calipers do not require an adapter to bolt right up. However, the 350mm calipers are harder to source and generally more expensive (still cheaper then Cayenne though) since people are catching on that they are the same things as Cayennes but without the price tag. The 330mm calipers bolt right up too. The advantage of the 330 calipers, is that you can always add an adapter to use a larger rotor. For me this is great, because I am only using 17s due to rough roads... but in the future, I may go to 18s and 2 piece rotors, in which case I can just add an adapter and new rotors and be good to go.
Right now, the 330mm calipers are much easier to find and much cheaper as well, since people are catching onto the Touareg 350mm calipers. I have access to a machine shop, so I am going to see what the cost is to get some adapters CNC'ed. I imagine I can get the cost of adapters down to $50 each easily, which is only $100 on top of the $900 price tag for the larger setup.
Sounds like there is some interest (unlike my 3" downpipes... ) so once my own BBK is all setup and ready to go and I have an exact idea of what it entails, I will move forward with exact pricing, and hopefully hook some people up!.
As of right now, it is easier and cheaper to do the 330mm kit and I have a line on bulk calipers for a price that makes it worth it to me. But it seems there is more interest in the 345mm kit, so I will pursue obtaining those larger calipers from a source as well; along with adapters to use the 330mm with larger rotors!!!
This thread has all the original discussions concerning different rotors, their dimensions, necessary hardware, similar brake setups (B7 RS4 calipers, etc). Took a long time to read through everything, but there is some great info. That thread is what got me interested in this setup. A handful of people have done it already, and these calipers can also bolt up to MK5 R32s and other cars like that. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274285

There is a bit of confusion in what I am saying, so hopefully this clarifies for a few of you.
Hahah, sorry its not clear.
The 350mm calipers DO NOT require an adapter for 345mm rotors. The 330mm calipers DO NOT require an adapter for 330mm rotors.
HOWEVER, the 330mm calipers DO REQUIRE an adapter if you want to use them with 345mm rotors.
Essentially, Im trying to explain that the 350mm calipers cost TWICE as much as the 330mm calipers, even though they are the same basic caliper with the same power and pistons, etc. Therefore, its actually cheaper to buy the 330mm calipers, and use an adapter to run the larger rotor.... INSTEAD of just buying the 350mm calipers.
For instance
330mm calipers = $130
350mm calipers = $400+
330mm calipers with adapter to run 345mm rotor = $230.
Get what I mean?

Just wanted to give an update. Got the brakes painted; decided to go red and be flashy. Of course, camera not working again and can't find iphone cord. Anyways, here are pics from few days ago before wire brush and a bit of sanding. Pistons seem good, but I decided to buy a piston rebuild kit just in case.
As you can see, they are huge. Yet they weigh considerably less then the HP2 calipers, as they are aluminum. And yes... the bleeders are reversible for those who asked.

Max, great find/idea. I'm interested in both a kit and sourcing myself. I can help you put thhe kits together if you're down with that, I've got loads of time on my hands

Thanks Wes. I guess I want to make it clear, at this point I am just posting this thread to help others do their own BBK for real cheap. I am not advertising my own kit, although I do plan too once I get logistics figured out (in the next month). When that happens, I'll post something different and maybe try to talk to Anthony about advertising.
I don't want to take business away from anyone (ie JHM specifically), but since my kits would be containing parts from JHM such as hardware bolt kit, RS4 stainless lines, and possibly 2 piece rotors... I am hoping they will understand. I think most people interested in this kit are people who don't have $1800 to throw down on a BBK anyways. I know I sure don't.
Most of the calipers I buy and will buy at this price point require a good bit of work to sand em down, clean em up, paint them, and get them ready Some require piston rebuild kits too, which is even more work. When it is said and done, there isn't a whole lot of money to be made, but as a college student, I could use all the extra cash I can get and I love things like this.
Currently talking to another Audizine member about getting some brackets made for rear calipers and also to use 330 calipers with the 345mm rotors. I'm waiting for my ML55 rotors to get here for those measurements and I think I am going to purchase some rear 4 pistons also, which I hope can be used with the B7 S4 300mm rotors with some tinkering.
Hoping to have my kit installed by this weekend's Sunday drive. I've got a blown front strut I need to replace first. More pics once this POS camera starts working.

and now since its been posted in the A4 forums, everyone and their mom has gone and bought the calipers up... the annoying part is that A4 owners need to custom machine brackets out, and I bet most of them won't ever actually get to the point of doing that, and then they will resell the calipers for a profit...
rest assured, next time I'm keeping my mouth shut and won't try to help anyone.

Hey relax and don't jump to conclusions.
I genuinely need better brakes and have been looking at different options for months. I'm sure other people are in the same situation too. I have no intention of buying calipers and then reselling them for a profit, as it stands I haven't been able to find any where I live yet anyway which is annoying.
I was talking with JHM while they were in development to be able to use their kit when it came out except that by the time it released the price had doubled and the specs had changed so that they would no longer fit under my 17" wheels.

what kinda of brackets are you talking about here? I think all we (A4 owners) need are S4 uprights and that's all. Don't bash on A4 owners :[.
You should try to find some 2 piece rotors. It'll be even lighter!

hey ernest, without having to change the uprights, you can machine a bracket and use the b7 s4 rotor and it would work just fine. if u change the uprights and spindles, u have to change your axel too if its anything below 2001.
ahh I forgot about the differences in an 01 Well for me (2001), all I need are the b5 S4uprights. hm..I forgot about the B7 S4 rotors, they're 345mm as well.
since this is bolt on for an S4, it should apply for a C5 A6 that has HP2's as well right?
Nice post BTW to the OP.
Yes stampy, as the C5 A6 with the 2.7T uses the same uprights.
Here are the 4 piston Brembo calipers. They look nice, and my information about 4 seperate small pads like the HP2 calipers was wrong. They use single piece pads, although they are smaller then the 1LC/1LF calipers.
The Best Things in Life Are Free... Or Heavily Discounted!
nah i don't run wear sensors (pretty sure they are plug and play, otherwise it is just 2 wires). false sense of security IMO. I check my pads all the time, and its even easier with these brakes. got to get those rotors and your setup finished, since i ain't gonna be testing mine for a few weeks atleast!!!
PS. I need to get rid of a set of 4 piston Brembos, either alone or as a kit. They are cleaned up, painted. PM me.

Oh snap. I saw those on craigslist but couldn't bring mysel to buy 19s
Yeah, I hate 19s but I have confidence I can flip them for a profit if I need too. These Koni's ride pretty smooth it seems (not like my old Bilsteins on my Passat) and I don't drive mountain roads very often now that I live down in town. Plus, it means I now have 4 matching tires too!!! Kanyon actually went and picked them up for me from SF last night. Tread is 60% plus, nice and even, 2 rims have some minor curb damage, none on the spokes. I see these selling for $850+ often and people buying them.
However, now maybe it is time to get some 345mm rotors and make some adapters!!! That being said... I just bought some 2 330mm piece rotors for the same price as new single piece rotors, which should go absolutely fantastic with these 6 piston calipers and help drop some weight.
