right, and i totally agree...the problem here is those arent really audi rings. its the word dope. when i look at that, i see the word dope over lapped, i dont see/think audi and any non audi enthusiast will think the same.
props though op, its something you really wanted and you did it. dont let anyone say other wise. you will always get ball busters, but what ever.
ps your arm could almost be bigger then my head

I don't think I'm into anything that much that I would do that. I'd like to think my interests and tastes might change as I grow older and have more life experiences. Kinda like how I used to be totally into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the comic book) when I was a kid, but I'm kinda over it now.
But props to the OP for being so loyal to a lifestyle.
Hopefully he's both, b/c that's not a smart tattoo choice.
please inform me what your idea of a "smart" tattoo choice actually is then? because i'm pretty sure anyone who has any tattoo of ANY sort was looked at as unintelligent at one point or another in aftermath. My idea of a tattoo is to display something your passionate about or feel for. I think anything with some form of meaning behind it deserves some form of respect, weather it's shown or not. And for the record the idea of using the dope logo was to showcase the love for audi's but more importantly the culture, as opposed to having a corporate logo on my body. The vw/audi scene has a huge cult following over most other car scenes, but i feel like the line between some of the audi guys does not carry over as much as i think it should. If i posted this on vortex i guarantee the positive comments would have easily drowned out the negatives if there would have been any at all.
to those throwing the fire. i could give a fuck, or i wouldn't have got it, let alone posted it. And for those who had positive feedback, it is very much appreciated.

fixed parts are underlined.
#1 - A smart tattoo choice IMHO is something that will be timeless and has little outside influence to changing your idea or theories on. God forbid Audi does some dumb shit in the future, what are you going to do with that branded on your arm when you no longer believe in the company? Smart choices lead to less regret later. In 20 yrs, just remember that I said it was a bad idea. What happens when you're the "old guy" at the car shows and all the teenaged douchers are running around in Audi's that their parents bought them and you realize that you're the only good one left? You're stuck representing the scene that you no longer fit into or support.
#2 - that depends entirely on too many things. Shit tattoos are shit tattoos no matter where you live or who does them. A good piece of art (which it is) can at least be looked at as such, whether the person wearing it is intelligent or not. I don't think that you are a dumb person, I just think you could have made a better decision.
#3 - I'm glad you're passionate about Audi/VW, yes there's meaning and respect behind it. You don't need to tattoo it on your arm to be respected. The amount of respect the "DOPE" logo gets, is about limited to the logo and "street cred" to the driver. You're on a forum full of enthusiasts (generally older and wiser than Vortex) that for the most part don't consider that a good decision.
#4 - You're right, VW/Audi people are a lot more passionate about their cars then other car scenes. However, we go about it in different ways. I'm glad that you're proud, that's a good thing. It's more important that you're passionate about it than that you physically show it on your body. If you want to show your passion, start a car club at a college, organize a VW/Audi Rally or AutoCross, photoshoot, local get togethers, etc. The people is what makes the scene so great, it's not the poster boards that we cover ourselves with.

BMW owners are opinionated pricks (I would know having owned one), but you don't see us running around with blue and white propeller tattoos.

Believe me, I miss my E21 all the time. I think I might pick up another, or perhaps finally get an E36 M3...because the Subaru isn't NEARLY enough of a high maintenance money pit.

Please post this on Vortex. I would love to see peoples response. I've been on Vortex longer then I have AZ, and I KNOW this is mild compared to what Vortex can/will do.

Aso someone who has several pieces of ink, and is also a veteran of "car culture", I have to voice my opinion:
You sir, are a absolute kindergartner. I stared at this photo for a couple of minutes looking for signs of Photoshop or Sharpie. (I found none, so if this is a troll, it is very good one.)
You wanted a tattoo because... well... it's going around. So you thought to yourself... "Hmmm... What kind of tattoo can I get that will be cool?" ...and that's the best you could do. I'm willing to bet that you don't know the origins of the "four rings dope" insignia as it was already cliche when I picked up my first Audi long before these forums went live. What you will be is the poster child for tattoo regret.
I can say with all honesty that this is the very first tattoo I have ever seen which has made me believe that its owner would have been better off picking some sort of generic tribal nonsense from the artist's book. I love tattoo art, and I support people who choose it for themselves... but I weep for you.
Here are two of my tattoos. The first is an interpretation of Arcturus and Diana. For me it represents my love of flight, (I am a skydiver and a pilot), and many of the challenges which I have found and met over the course of my 38 years.
The second is the Sanskrit word for patience or courage. (In Sanskrit, these are the same word.)
Clearly, both have deep, personal meaning in my life.
I hate to be judgmental, and God love you if you find deep meaning in a piece of fleeting subculture pop-art, but I find this sort of offensive for those of us who enjoy real body art.

Mine's bigger ... but seriously, I like the Arcturus one.
That second part I quoted I agree 100%

I mean I was thinking about getting some car related ink, and more than likely will. But it would at least be in remembrance of my best friend/roommate that passed away this last June, and if/when it is seen by the outside world they'll know why its there.
This? What you've done?
