    Installers in New Jersey

Considering replacing stock Symphony radio with aftermarket Kenwood 6140 in my 07 Audi A4. Have learned that if not done properly can be problems with OBD system in car and amplification of rear speakers.

Installers in my area don't seem to have any knowledge (or very limited) about these issues. Audi dealers are very aware of these potential problems and recommend that I do not swap radios. In fact, one dealer told me that they had to tell a customer that aftermarket radio needed to be removed because their equipment could not perform diagnostics.

Does anyone know of any installers in New Jersey who are first rate and know how to do things right without causing new problems? They would need to be familiar with VagCom and CAN BUS issues.

I just got the car a few months ago and have had zero problems so far. I am truly loving this car. My previous Audi was loaded with problems from day one. I do not want to look for trouble and possibly waste a lot of money but would like to get GPS and bluetooth into vehicle.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ed

It sounds like they are yanking your chain, honestly.

where in jersey do you prefer?

Don't connect the CAN-BUS wires to the radio harness.

Need a CAN-BUS module to get S-contact & illumination wires to connect to radio harness.

    Re: Installers in New Jersey

Thank you. I prefer Central New Jersey but would be willing to travel within state if needed.

I have been talking to the guys at Enfig who tell me that the Connects2 harness will not interfere with vehicle diagnostic system at all and will give me complete integration and full use of factory steering wheel controls with aftermarket radio. Still weighing my options. Thanks for the info.
