Picked up my A5 used in May 09 with just over 8k miles.
Car is an '08 S-line with a build date of 02-02-2008.

Took it to a car show a few weeks later and won 2nd place best Import:



First mods done a few weeks later were LED swaps for all interior bulbs... then I installed grocery hooks in my trunk as this car is a daily driver.

then LED license plate bulbs from Tunerdomes (which burned out in a month)... so I replaced them with the Racing Dash ones from PYSpeed:



I didn't like the all silver Quattro badge on the interior dash, so I popped it out and color filled the Quattro bit to make it pop more:

I wanted carpets with the rings on them so I had them made in Germany (Luftimixx on ebay) a little pricey (€ 94 with shipping) but damn nice work:

I bought some R8 caps for my car, but didnt think they were shiny enough so I bought some billet caps from JCaps.

When they arrived they still had visible tool marks from the CNC machining so I spent 4 hours sanding and polishing them. Started with 400 grit, then 600, then 1000, then 1500, then 2000, then 2500 and finally with 3000, followed by some Blue Magic aluminum polish:




I did the same with my air conditioning aluminum lines... you should see them shine (will add photo of that later)

My next exterior mod was to add the carbon fiber front delete to replace the relatively boring gloss black one I ordered a few months ago. The carbon fiber definately pops on the front of this car and adds a nice touch:




I just tinted my tails with Lamin-X (gunsmoke as I didnt want to go too dark) sorry for the poor quality photos will put something better here later:

I ordered the KW V2 coilovers, but until Audi replaces my lower front control arms I'm not putting them in... til then they sit in a box:

If you've ever popped out your license plate lights before then its easy, if not be careful not to open the lid too far while doing it or you might lose the wire inside the lid and have to pull the carpeted part off (I did that my first time OOPS!).

All you should need tool wise to put these in is a flat head screwdriver and a cigarette lighter or some other heat source for the heat shrink tubing. Really they are a piece of cake, comes with a little wire adapter to make the LED module plug in to the harness. I would have preferred straight plug and play but this works. I didn't notice any polarity requirements for the cable as both of them worked on my first try.

It comes with a large heat shrink tube to cover your wiring. I used about 6 inches of electrical tape to wrap around the connection first before heat shrinking. I find its less likely to disconnect that way.

If you find them too bright you may want to tint the lens on them... I'm considering taking a quick spray with some VHT that my buddy has left over from doing his tails, as they stick out a bit now that i've tinted my tails.

no i'm having a STaSIS dealer in NH do the exhaust, rear bar and swap my rear valance all at the same time. I wanted a dealer to do it just so I have some backup on my warranty cause the dealers up here in maine are whiny little bitches

I'm going black and carbon fiber on the exterior... just wish more people made carbon fiber parts for it.

I will probably do some interior mods down the road... for now i'm primarily doing the performance stuff that is visible from the outside. I take it to shows on the weekend with my car club.

In your close up shot of the ARB in the post, it the ARB hangers look gold in color and have a grease fitting on them? Did you purchase these separate? My STaSIS ARB did not come with those hangers.

those hangers were put on by the local STaSIS dealer, I dont believe they shipped with the ARB.

waiting on AoA to authorize new front control arms to deal with shimmy at 55-70mph (they're replacing wheel #4 on Monday) after they do control arms and shimmy is gone they will go on... hopefully soon!

So car is at a different dealer for the week

apparently my shimmy is worse than I thought...
I put 2 brand new tires on the car a couple weeks ago... they are already worn unevenly! dealer is claiming now that I will likely need 4 new tires...

they also tell me that one of the links for my rear ARB is broken!!! ALREADY!!! WTF?!?!?!?!

on the other hand at least I have some new goodies for the car whenever I get it back:

for those of you that care... apparently there are TWO different textures to the sunvisors for the 2008 model year. Be aware of that if you decide to order them...

these are part numbers 8K0 857 551 F and 8K0 857 552 F for cars with the waffle weave/honeycomb looking headliners.

the earlier models with the tiny pebbled surface sunvisors use part numbers 8K0 857 551 A and 8K0 857 552 A.
