Bad Durkheim Wine Fest and Frankfurt Auto

Is anyone headed down to Bad Durkheim this weekend for the wine and (uummm not literal) sausage fest this weekend? I know i'll be headed down there and wanted to see if anyone else is going? Next weekend is the Frankfurt Auto Show also. Trying to see if anyone wants to go.

I have been itching to get my car on the open road again after being gridlocked in Vienna for the past week. It really depends on what my wife and I decide, so we might come to one or the other. Send me a pm cause i think either could be fun.

Ah damn, I just saw this. That would have been an easy drive from here, I had a good weekend anyways. I've been training for Oktoberfest next weekend! We'll have to start a new post for that, you comin down Bigbyrd?

Aahh Oktoberfest! Ill have to see. I told my son I would take him to the Frankfurt Autoshow this Sat...um. there is just too much goin on at this time of the year! Lol.

the IAA was a huuuge stau.... I guess it is my fault for going on saturday... The cars were pretty cool, but nothing too special. and WTF was with that e-tron... ugly. Anyway, the journey was worth it in itself. Missing a 120 sign and getting pulled over by an unmarked police car, going 150+ with a pantera, AMG Merc and Maserati. Fun times!

LOL you get that fueling and it will be A LOT more fun!!! How did you get pulled over going 150+??? I wouldn't think they would catch you. I didn't end up making it to IAA...went to a village Oktoberfest and got a little too drunk and was hungover Sat.

I was only going 120(200kph) when I got pulled over and it was on the way up. the Rest of the fun stuff was on the way back. I actually sped up to let this black audi wagon by that I thought wanted to go by, but when I passed the slow car that was ahead the police (aka black audi) got in front of me and turned on their LED "Polizei --- STOP" sign.

He told me he would have to impound the car at first, but I told him that I must have missed the 120 sign and that a mercedez passed me going faster (which was true). He let me off with a warning and I am thankful because 200kph in a 120kph zone sounds bad...

I was about as fast as the other cars. The Merc was about the same since it was only a V8 komp, but the Pantera and Maserati were a little faster.

Hopefully I will make it to some Oktoberfest this weekend

I have friends in Munich, but it will be way too crowded there I think

Ya Munich is really crowded. You can't really get into the beer tents or anything. The Stuttgart Oktoberfest is a lot better IMO. Its just as large just not as crowded.

I went to Munich on opening day and yes it was crowded. The big tents were sold out as expected, but we got into a small tent without waiting. It was packed too, but we still had a blast, it only took 4 beers to get tipsy. I'm going to the Stuttgart Volksfest on Friday, since I live here its easy to get to, plus we has a reservation in one of the big tents!

GaroBlu, you have GPS? I always use it to see the speed limit where I'm at, it changes so much here I have found it really useful. Good thing they let you off though!
