Hello and welcome to our August installment of the Audizine Monthly Newsletter!

As we do each and every month, this newsletter thread contains a rundown of the latest Industry & Mototrsport News since our last installment, as well as details on the current month's Featured AZ'er.

New this month we bring you our latest and greatest Audizine Merchandise, a very handsome 18"x24" print of an award winning photo taken by fellow AZ'er "ShutterSpeed". Also here for the first time we've compiled the month's Desktop Wallpapers, as we post up new images for your computer's desktop each and every Wednesday. You know it, you love it, or maybe neither, we call it Wallpaper Wednesday!

Beast, monster, station wagon... If you're an average "Joe American", one of those things just doesn't belong. If you're an Audi nerd though, or perhaps European, then you're not surprised at all by such a grouping of words. Some of the most monstrous cars to be sold by Audi have been wagons (Avants), such as the legendary Porsche-collaborated RS 2 and the very first RS 4. The one we have for you here though is by even more means of the word, a true monster, a Frankenstein's monster if you will. The owner, Brian (AKA: Todeshandler), started off with a perfectly good V8-powered B7 S4 Avant and almost immediately took it to the mad scientists at VF-Engineering for some more power. As it so happened, the team at VF was ramping up efforts on their 4.2 V8 supercharger kit, and Brian's 2008 Avant was to be one of their real world test cars. And so, a beast was born. More

Audi celebrates 1-2-3-4 victory at the Nürburgring

Ingolstadt/Zandvoort - By scoring an impressive 1-2-3-4 win at the Nürburgring, Audi re-captured the lead in the DTM at the beginning of the second half of the season. With title defender Timo Scheider (35 points) and Mattias Ekström (34 points), as many as two Audi drivers are ranking at the top of the standings after six of ten rounds. More

Supercharged Audi S5 Cabriolet Breezes In

The latest A5 range flagship is powered by the same all-new supercharged six-cylinder engine that enables the previously V8-powered S4 Saloon to deliver characteristic sports car pace with atypically high efficiency, and its influence is equally palpable in this latest application. Working exclusively in conjunction with the equally economy-focused 7-speed S tronic twin-clutch sports transmission, the new unit pares CO2 output back to 224g/km and boosts economy to up to 29.1mpg, yet also powers the S5 Cabriolet to 62mph in 5.6 seconds and on to a governed 155mph top speed. Featuring a photo taken by one of our very own, Wes Fornadel (AKA: ShutterSpeed), it will make the perfect friend for your wall - whether it be in a bedroom, office, garage, or dining room.

Aside from looking badass, proceeds from every poster sold will be going to a good cause (unless you hate animals). One dollar from every poster sold will be donated to The Humane Society of the United States.
