led door handle lights

Noob here,

Just wanted to see if anybody has done or attempted to install led's under their door handles? It will be like bimmer handles that fade. Tried to search but came up with zip, maybe its just my noob-ness ( is this a word?)

I will try to install the lights this weekend, we'll see how it goes... flame on?

i'm 100% sure this was mentioned once before, but it was kind of obscure so i can't blame you for not being able to find it. how do you plan on wiring the lights?

I'm thinking of connecting it to the dome lights, taking off the headliner and door panels. Not sure if it will work but I'll post some pics if it does.

Yes, have that on my '09 and it is pretty sweet. The door handles do also protrude out from the body a bit, so not sure where OP has in mind to install. Might be easier underneath the side view mirrors.

My friend and I took forever to figure out how to take the door panels and the headliner off last week. We also had to figure where to run the wires and the power source.
Finally figured it out, we will try to finish everything this long weekend. Hope it works...

cool! definitely want to see how this works out. I do agree with the one comment about it being easier to run through the mirrors. I believe there are two screw holes under the mirror holding the housing on. When i replaced my mirror housings i couldn't get both screws in (the inner most ones) so that would be cool to drill a larger hole to fit an LED in the inner screw hole and wire it through there. I only suggest this because i don't exactly know where you would be able to put a light under our door handles.

Done, apologies no pics yet because I'm a little disappointed in the led's I chose. I might have to contact Dr Phil (V3 lights) and see where he buys his led's.
Over all not a bad DIY if you can take off a bumper you can do this mod. Funny thing is now I see all the scratch marks in my handles. Ill try to get a good camera and take a pic, too bad its not as bright.
