well i finally got some pics idk how the quality is my camera was broke so i used my phone. right now its running and drivable(used a 5 gal gas can to take it around the block had to remove the fuel tank and am building a custom fuel cell ) still has some minor kinks to get worked out, like the radiator and cooling fan its not stayin cool enough. i took out the 1.8 and put in a 5.7, its a 1979 350 with a 4 bolt main bottem end is stock, has worked heads, edelbrock cam, edelbrock torker II intake mani, edelbrock 650 4 barrel carb, comp cams roller rocker arms, custom made headers and modified oil pan. had to make a custom crossmember and tranny mount, driveshaft, relocated battery to fit distributor, pushed the firewall in a little, custom gauge cluster, and a whole bunch of other stuff ill post some more pics probly tomarrow.

Lol wow... I have a 350... I was thinking it would be much better in my dads CJ though.

Dont care to much for this. It would be awesome if you kept it AWD. I believe there are LS1 adaptor plates for the audi trans. So having crap load of torque plus AWD would be insane.

right now im using the stock one, lol, idk if it will hold up, personally i dought it but ill find out.
It will hold up fine I'm sure. I mean most of the torque goes to the rear on a launch anyways and they have been holding up for high hp for quite some time.

i'm loving it. i was thinking a rotary engine in the b5 to get rid of the understeer but i don't have the funds or fabbing skills. maybe you should do that next lol. why don't you relocate the battery to the trunk? it'd give you a bit of room for a fuel cell

i was going to but didnt feel like running the cables all the up to the front, i had to do that with my first car, i had a 2000 subaru impreza 2.5rs that i fabbed up a custom turbo kit for and i had alot of voltage problems i was losing it because of the distance, and i had room to fit it under the hood, so i figured it be easier, and i didnt want to have any voltage problems because i still have all the interior goodies it came with, like the heated seats,a/c,etc.
maybe you used too large gauge wiring. maybe a larger alternator. either way though, you've done a great job and i have to say this but you are such a red neck lol j/k

yea it is a little redneck, i was waiting for someone to say something along those line lol
This is really cool, nice custom fabbing! And I agree some videos would be awesome! This is such a bastard child haha American meets Euro 5.7v8 goes where a 1.8fourbanger once was.
Parting out 1999.5 a4 1.8tqm pm me for parts and any reasonable offer is accepted!
yea ill def throw some vids up a soon as i get it driving around, i took it around the block but thats all so far, but put it this way i have a box of wires that are now useless, already sold the ecu, but the throttle i just had to shorten the cable

wow. some one actually did it. i had this idea a long while back and i only got flamed when i asked about it, i thought it was a good idea, looks like i was right. good job man!
hey thats cool, how much HP is it putting out? to down the under steer a bit, if you had the cash could have gone to a alloy block and a larger capacity, there are some grunty after market small block 427s and 454s around now.

Tq is 50/50 on a launch, this is why the modified torsens dont make any difference when launching. Plush when launching the front wheels are pulling the car forward which means they are reducing the load on the rears. I dont see the tiny rear axles lasting all that long when trying to get enough traction to move the car forward under high load.
Wow this is simply awesome. Great work! It would be amazing if they made a motor mount and tranny mount kit. Drop in an LS6 and call it a day haha.
I found a LS1 to audi trans kit The complete kit is $1350. That includes the adapter plate, custom flywheel, clutch parts, starter, and bolts.. Not a bad deal, thinking of doing this swap in my 90q but i dont think there is enough room.
