S4/RS4 Avants in NA...enter comments here.

We're starting to see people take delivery of S4 sedans now and they're an awesome package. I would trade my '09 A4 Avant in a second IF Audi offered an S4 Avant in North America.

I love my Avant so much that I would rather drive an A4 Avant than a S4 sedan. Nothing against the new S4 sedans but I just wouldn't want to give up the Avant body. If they (S4 Avants) ever come to NA I'll be first on the list.

I'm curious to know how others feel on the subject. I've seen blurbs on various threads about people's feelings but I figured we could compile them and see just how many feel like I do.

Might as well take the rs4 off the title

you're probably right but it was meant to include higher performance variants of the Avant that are (or have been) available in other markets.

If they do make the next RS4....maybe that'll be the only Avant they offer to us :)

If the S4 Avant were available right now, I would not be driving the A4 avant.

Add me to the list of people that would LOVE to see an S4 avant available in NA (more specifically Canada). I actually came close to buying a used one knowing that the B8 wasn't coming in that variant.

Then I saw and sat in the B8 sedan. Fortunately (just barely), I can make do without the wagon.

Although I lust after one, this community is but a small percentage of Audi buyers, and ultimately the numbers don't lie. I'm on my iPhone, so I don't have the link handy, but there was a thread not too long ago that showed the abysmal numbers for the S4 Avant.

Until North Americans realize how much better sportwagons (in most cases) are than SUV's I think S4 lovers are out of luck. In fact wagons as a species might be in trouble; I believe Subaru has stopped bringing their wagons to Canada.

I guess I'm the only odd one here. I really don't care for any wagon. Some wagons do look very nice, but that's where it stops for me. I just don't see myself wanting to own one.

vwong; that's because you live in SoCal

    I'd buy a B8 S4 Avant in a heart beat.

I recently sold my B6 S4 Avant (big mistake ) and I can't find an equivalent wagon to the audi. Quattro is simply the best AWD system. The Subaru I had before my S4 and the one I'm currently driving (50:50 split center LSD and rear LSD) cannot compare the the S4's Torsen setup.

The lack of the Avant means that I may skip the new S4, keep the crap box Subaru as a daily, and buy a P-car once I finish my masters.

    Reply from AudiUSA;

"Thank you for your interest in Audi.

No plans have been announced at this time for production of an S4 Avant model for North America, but we will be happy to forward your note to the appropriate persons for consideration in future planning. The preferences and opinions of our customers are very important in developing models for the coming years.

Again, thank you for contacting us. Please write again if we can be of any further assistance.
    "

Would suggest folks to bombard AudiUSA with S4 Avant questions.

I think I'll get an avant next. I almost ordered one instead of the sedan, but wasn't quite ready yet. The more I see, the more I like... so I'm sure I'll be ready in a few years.

So, what's being in So Cal have to do with it? See my name? See my car?

    Kidding.

I understand most folks wouldn't touch a "wagon" with a 10-foot pole. That's unfortunate. I'm keeping my B6 S4 Avant until they bring another S4 (RS4, RS6, S6) Avant here. Could be waiting a while.

All RS4 will be avants in the B8 is what I have heard. The B7 RS4 was solely marketed in the US and as a result, Audi will no longer cater to the US markets demands. We will probably not get the RS4 avant though.

But think about the $$$ that it would cost and you could be in a very nice 911 4S that someone else took the depreciation on.

Hmmm....RS4 vs C4S.. how would that look.
