Whats the best way to tone down my exhaust setup with least restriction?

I am running ssac resonated downpipes and asp trudual catback. Just a hair too loud for a dd. I really dont want to spend money on putting cats into the downpipes but would if that is the best route. Would maybe welding in another resonator on each downpipes help more, just scared that would deepen the tone and almost produce more drone? TIA

I'll trade you my SSAC catback. It's too quiet for me!

PS - I don't think resonators will help with overall sound. They just kill drone that comes from resonance in the system. To tone it down you need more muffler.

id get some high flow cats, i was running the resonators and there is a ton of noise difference between having cats and the resonators. If you are looking for another set of resonators from the ssac i have mine still which i will send you if you pay for shipping.

slides perfectly over the ssac pipes, i also added flex pipes to the setup instead of the olive clamps.

Re: Whats the best way to tone down my exhaust setup with least restriction?

looks good, how did that help the sound? I am thinking of getting that asp exhaust and downpipes but can't decide on the test pipes or cats. I also can't decide if i should buy that exhaust or have my buddy make me a custom one. He is real good at what he does, but he works on Subaru's mostly. Any suggestions?

Ca laws, you cannot change out your cats unless they are factory. Also they have to have a special ca approved document.

Re: Whats the best way to tone down my exhaust setup with least restriction?

i had to raise the idle on mine by 20 rpm, that helped alot with the idle drone. then i richened the idle mixture a bit and now its fairly quiet.

i also had to richen the decel mixture alot to stop the backfires. sounds pretty good when it isnt gurgeling and popping or droning.

ive also got stock cats so your oging to have to tweak the settings a bit till you find a harmonic that isnt annoying
    Your valve covers are leaking

Officially, no aftermarket performance exhaust part is CA legal. OEM only and only if your factory cats have failed. CA sucks. Of course, there are "ways" around this.
