C5 front end to C6 front end swap

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking into swapping out the front end of a 2000 A6 Avant, to the newer C6 front end. Can anyone tell me (in detail) the parts I'd need, and what would need to be done to do this? I have about $2500-3000 I could put into the project. I'm steering away from the LLtek Hoefele front end swap at this point, from what I've read most people don't like it much. I'm sick of the old front end on my A6, I think the new front ends are bangin that's why I want to swap it. Any advice/knowledge please please please help me out!!!

I think you should just keep the A4 man, questions like that are just asking for a flaming.

Here are the part numbers. It will look like this just add grille. BTW, it will be pretty cool doing the A4 to A6 plus a C6 update.

Re: C5 front end to C6 front end swap

What about putting S6 Grilles and bumpers on it than? I'm not sure if the S6 Avant even has different bumpers than the A6. If so anyone know where to find em? And where to find the S6 grilles? I'd want it to look like this..

I'm also thinking about dropping a PES G2 Superchager in it...

^ I dont care for that at ALL. Where did you find the pics.

It does not go with the lines of the car and looks out of place.

You can find PES G2 supercharger for around $2000-$2500

Re: C5 front end to C6 front end swap

I don't care for that Hoefele crap. I want to replace the whole front clip, hood, fenders, bumper, grill, headlights (am I missing anything?). The more I look around though I kinda like the old body style S6 Avants, I'd consider doing S6 styling (along with some badass black RS4 reps) And I've seen used G2 superchargers go for $2000-2500, but that might not be until a few months down the road that I think about under the hood...

And btw I love my A4 but it's on it's way out and my A6 Avant is taking it's place.

Re: C5 front end to C6 front end swap

Seen someone already doing it, seems to turn out not too bad (This is NOT my car)

I do understand why the owner of this C5 wanted to do this instead of selling his C5 and get the C6, C6 in here costs around 150,000 USD (for the 3.0 Quattro) and the price of second hand C5 dropped to 16,000-18,000 USD (in here we have only 2.4 C5 available, no 2.7T, 3.0, 4.2).

Not my cup of tea but I do respect the effort on doing it

Re: C5 front end to C6 front end swap

I think the problem is that the C6's front bumper is suited for a "bigger" car. The C5 can't be bulked up that much.

now that is proper, i want to see this thing completed. if you want to do a conversion, this is the way to do it. not that shit ass kit from lltek. if you want it to flow proper, you need the lights and everything like this guy did. i think this is going to look good. c5 head lights, they mark the starting point of the line that runs down the side of the car, which ends at the tail light, then it goes up to a trunk lip and flows all the way around the car.. the c6 lights look to match the body line of the car. thats pretty sweet work right there

not trying to pic whore, but you can see what i mean about the body line here

im curious how he is going to make the sides work though. it will look very weird if he left the sides stockish.. needs rs6 side skirts or something that drops lower then the stock side skirts to make it flow.

Yeah it's a different proposition in a place like Thailand where new/newer cars are priced astronomically higher and also labor is much cheaper

I can't believe it.. but the custom C6 swap doesn't look too bad.. I'd be interested in seeing the finished product.. oh, and the Hoeffle thing makes me sad in pants.
