Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary
All the b6 conversions take some serious bravery to take on and each one being as awesome as the next. I'm looking forward to seeing this being completed.
If you want to sell some of your bits let me know e.g. side skirts etc. I want to get rid of the plasticy stuff and get colour coded all round. thanks

Hi Billy, any tips on how to remove the rear seats. I've tried everything. The whole interior is stripped. I just cant get the back seat back out. Mine does NOT fold. It seems to be spot welded.
Thanks

take some pictures, it's hard to visualize. you may have to break out the grinder
Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary
YES, done it.
I found this on a different forum.
It was the head rest mountings, i.e the tubing that the headrests fit into.
It holds the top of the seat in place. Then the bottom just comes out by pulling out and up..
Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary
Thats why it took ages getting the back seats out.
UK a4's with non folding seats are held in on a metal pannel.
I think this is so that if you brake really hard the stuff in the boot,
does not coming flying through,
The seats are held in place by th head rest brackets and a lip at the bottom.

Having ripped all my car apart, when I tracked it, I am very sorry I didnt see this thread so as to help you. having taken everything there is in the car, out of it, except for the dashboard, I can definately tell you, the rear seats are the most difficult part to get rid off....Glad you made it, I used the ELSA pics as well...
Once you put them back on, you will need new guides for the ones that were destroyed for the headrests....

Dam your car looks quick, Looks like a full on race car.
Whats 1/4 mile does it do.
Also any tips on how to get the top dash board of.
Well it used to look like a full race car. No it doesnt anymore, if u read the thread to its last page u will understand what I mean...
I am getting prepared for a big turbo....Lets see what it will be...
However every other turbo out there must be bigger than the one I've got, LoLoLoL....
As for the top of the dash board, it is one the very few things I didnt remove and I was planning to do it someday...There are some major bolts under it...
If u have removed the lower parts, you should be able to see them...
Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary

Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary
Coming along nicely I see but the rear quarters is the hard bit for sure and I have to say this is where I will be handing the job over when it comes to mine.

Everyone i know here has said the same, to hand it to someone else when it comes to the rear quarters.
A friend of mine owns a body shop and does this stuff for a living.
He said the same thing, give it to him..
But i enjoy a challenge, so i'm going to get as far as i can. If i get realy stuck, i'll get him to come down and take the car of my hands.
Re: AUDI A4 B6 to B7 RS4 Widebody Replica Conversion Build Diary
Still collecting parts but I got a good deal on a boot/trunk lid the other day for £75 with the light and all still in it with not a sigle mark on it but I missed out on a brand new front wing/fender for £80 and a drivers mirror for £80 which pissed me off a bit.

I will probably get him to do the spot welding.
How far have you got with your conversion.
it is a LOT of spot welding. you're going to have to drill out all the existing spot welds that hold the rear taillight panel in, and along the rear qtr panels. you're looking at hundreds, if not more. :P

I've taken it of. Its lying on the floor in my garage. Haven't got round to putting it on ebay. You can have it if you want, but you'll have to collect it.
I got my rs4 boot lid delivered and all the corners where bent. So i don't trust delivery companies.
