tenfour, could you PM me the specifics on your bag system(cost, supplier, customer support, difficulty, etc), how the install was(either time if you DIYed it or cost). Thanks!
From what he told me, install was 6.5 hours, no cutting or anything involved, just installing bags and running hoses for the most part, pretty easy. Cost is unknown to me, and his supplier is a friend of his in Hawai'i(where he also lives), who I believe helped with the install.
It doesn't matter unless they're trying to advertise their product here. As a member, you can share the information.
Ok cool. My setup was basically a wireless setup, so install was much faster. It basically involved replacing the struts, running the hoses to the struts, and connecting power/ground. It didn't involve mounting of any gauges, pressure senders or switches. Which can get time consuming. Going wireless does cost more. As you can see in my pics I posted earlier, you'll see where things are in the trunk and how everything is in a boxed setup. Kits easily can cost 4k+.
If you decide that going wireless is out of your budget, then you can go the regular manual type setup, either manual or analog. It does involve installing the senders, gauges, and switches. It will save you a bunch, but install can take longer due to extra lines and things to mount.
There is not much options we have out there, so it's best to research and decide.
Edit: Go to bagriders.com. Going to their site will give you an estimate and what is needed in your kit. Hope this helps.

Any interest on sharing the cost with us, if not that cool or if you preffer to PM please do I will be considering this as a mod for my Avant when I take delivery, thanks again!

well, since tenfour went air, i picked up his coilovers... ST coilovers. i have stock wheels and tires, i got about a 1 finger gap front and rear. front ground to fender was like 25". forgot what the rear was... install took me about 3.5hrs, faster than i thought. i still have yet to get the car aligned at my old work, so until then im doing very little driving with her.. enjoy...

Nice looking package
Good to know suspensions being shared - My H&R springs went to Vancouver when I put KW coils on.
Cheers

did not some with sport. feels a little bit stiffer over stock but not super bouncy... but i think the tire is absorbing most of the bumps and dips in the road... i like it though..

This thread is just trouble... I have a set of Eibach Pro Kit springs sitting in my garage but I have stock shocks (not the sport package). Seems there are a few of you guys here that run springs on these stock shocks but I really wonder how long it would take before those shocks bow out. Been looking everywhere for the Koni Yellow's as a replacement but even those are on backorder :p.
I guess the other alternative is the ST coilovers but then I would need to find a buyer for my Eibach's! haha. Such a dilemma.
There are a few guys here running the eibach pro kits with stock shocks. It gives a nice moderate drop. Haven't heard anyone mention about their shocks life expentency though.

Yeah there seems to be a few running that setup. Hard to say how the ride would be with stock non-sport shocks though. Just not sure if I should be impatient and go with just the springs or wait for coilovers/after-market shocks.

I have the pro kit with the stock shocks. The ride is a bit stiffer but not too bad. Shocks seem to pair ok with the springs so far (about 700) miles. Feel like it has gotten a bit smoother over time and figured will just replace with the konis or something else when they go out.
No regrets on it, much happier with the look and feel of it.
I've got about 15k now on my non-sport shocks and Stasis Touring springs (H&R), no issues to report. Someday I'll either upgrade the shocks or go for a full coil-over setup, but for now the springs are a good option for the budget minded.
From the sounds of it, the Eibach Pro's seem to give a drop that the shocks can handle for a little while at least. I am getting my springs installed early next week along with the H&R sway bar. Hope it works out for a few years at least!

Just out of curiosity, the Stasis Touring kits are just springs right? People have installed them on the oem non-sport shocks though... how is this different from anyone installing H&R or Eibach springs on their stock shocks?
I'm thinking of upgrading my suspension a bit. im on sport suspension and was wondering what would be a better set up.. hotchkis/eurocode front and rear sway kit, or eurocode rear sway bar and alu kreuz brace.. thoughts?

I'm surently thinking about 19" for summer riding. Sises and rims design is clear for me, but I still can't find the decision to make correct stance of my Avant.
The reason is - "ADS Ride Control". I'm absolutely enjoing its different modes, changing in a second. And the question is - would it any problem with "ADS" work if i'll change standart springs. Does anybody got the same suspention?
Anyone here tried the KW Street Comfort setup?
P/N 18010075, 18010097 - unsure what is difference other than $250 MSRP price.
Have had KW V1 since May 2010, first on VMR 18" now on VMR 19" - ride has been harsh since initial install, every street bump seems as if shocks are non-functional.
Any ideas appreciated.
Have also posted in B8 S4 forum.
Cheers

No: when V1's were installed 5/10, VMR 18" had been on for 6+ months. Issue I have was from date of V1 install, not when VMR 19" were installed 11/11 - 19" install did NOT exacerbate problem - it was there from time of V1 install - rim size irrelevant.
Having read a lot tonight through A4 B8 and S4 B8 threads regarding KW coils in general, KW Street Comfort coils, and their alleged 'spacer' fix - which they may or may not cover as a warranty issue, have come to conclusion that KW "customer service" is a f**k you, unless you harass us beyond belief we will ignore you situation - saw only 2 posts where folks obtained satisfaction from KW - issues seem to be rears never settling, rear drop too extreme out of the box for Comfort Coils, rear spring rate/spring diameter suspect, issues also re V2, etc.
Am now considering other brands' coil setups - obtain drop (easily adjustable depending on conditions) that remains constant and some comfort in street surface ride.
BTW price is a consideration.
Cheers

Greg, methinks retirement has turned you into a grumpy old man with too much time on your hands to worry about suspension stiffness!
That said, I think Bilstein PSS10 would be great for you. The damper settings can be changed easily, as they're mounted on the bottom of the shocks. Never heard an issue with them either. Pricey, though...

Will PM NickZag re the Bilsteins, recall he got the first set available in States last March, and recall they are pricey - $2K at least.
Thanks guys

Heard back from NickZag today re his experience with PSS10's, not encouraging - he's been experiencing front wheel 'sag' - he dials them at 4 for street.
Plan next to take ride to another shop (NOT SonicMS) and have V1's adjusted 'up' 1/8"-3/16" (gap between tire top and wheel well) and observe whether 'sagging' re-occurs over next 3K miles.

What's your beef with SonicMS?
I'm pretty sure you'll end up where there's no more room to raise the rears. My V1's are all the way up in back and there's zero gap.
