Climate Control is defaulting it's temp to Celsius

Did some searching around months ago and discovered that you can toggle the Climate Control's display from Fahrenheit to Celsius by pressing the “air recirculation” button and the + or - buttons to toggle the temperature display format.

I was excited because for some reason my 2002 A6’s CC was constantly defaulting to Celsius.

So I’m stuck with having to toggle the output using the button shortcut (mentioned above) every time I get in my car.

*What can a brotha do to have the CC display the temp in Fahrenheit permanently?

This is happening to my 2002 C5 S6, as well. It must think I'm Canadian.
