correct. Champion, while a 2.7T is cool, a 4.2 in a B5 is just awesome. You can't beat V8 torque

There's a completely different sensation between 2.7T torque and a N/A V8 torque. Even if the V8 has less torque, it still has a more neck snapping feel the second the pedal is floored.

Thats fine, one day when you drive both you'll get what I'm saying. My car makes ~450awhp and ~400awtq but I'd easily take a V8 with less cause it'll beat me every time

Possible true with peak torque, however it's the area (power) under the curve that really makes a difference.

I would also use Drive by cable engine
Sorry I've been MIA for a while, been busy as hell with work school and additions to the V8 (will be posting up soon)... but I've had quite a few questions about the cost of the build... so here is a quick estimate that i've put together in my head for you:

    So lets see in reality...
Engine: $3400 (2001 4.2L drive by wire 52,000 miles, with all accessories wiring harness and ECU)
Timing belt kit: (~$400 just to have it done)
    RS4 clutch: $1400
    Milltek Downpipes: $1400
034 stiff OE race mounts: $140
    S4 Transmission stabilizer bar: ~$200 i think
    Electric Race fans: $200

Total: $7140 so actually almost 8K if you include all the small little things

and to tag onto the 2.7 convo... they can make a shit ton of power... but i don't want to be the one that has to pull the motor to service those turbos... thats my opinion in a nutshell...

Thanks I appreciate it, Seriously considering it and finding an Engine off a 97..but was a whole lot of custom work needed to have the ECU work with the car? hope that makes sense?
Also what adavantage was the RS4 clutch over any other after market clutch?
Just need to set up my budget.

a good big turbo build would not be too much cheaper in my opinion... and you Americans with your silly passtimes you call sports...

as far as custom work... I think i've described most of it in the thread... its not like swapping a BMW engine into an Audi, some things line up and just work, others need tinkering... I needed to wire power to the ECU and Fuel pump for example in the wiring...nothing extreme, just takes lots of research/studying to figure out how to do it and keep it integrated in teh wiring harness because not everythign works the way its supposed to...
