Question Selling Value of OEM 17" Wheels & Tires

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What is the approximate selling value of very good condition OEM 17" split five spoke wheels with tires?

I bought a pre-owned certified with new tires two months ago and have now put 18's on it. I understand it's whatever the market will bear, but I'm looking for a good number.

Atlanta is a pretty good location and you can sell anything on Craigslist.

    WHEELS & TIRES - I was thinking $400 to $500 at best.

These are the wheels if you are not familiar with them:

Re: Selling Value of OEM 17" Wheels & Tires

I think it is going to depend on what tires/how much tread is left. I used my stockers for snow tires, as they are ugly and not worth selling in my mind. I also think you are in line with your price, provided the tires are not shot. They are expensive OEM, but I don't think there is much of a demand for them.

Yep, tires were new when I bought the car - el cheapo Hankooks, but they only have a thousand miles on them. Wheels look good and they have brand new OEM centercaps.

I agree there won't be much of a market for them. Virtually every Audi has 17's on them already. That's gonna be the sticking point.

Throw them on Ebay. I've sold some really strange stuff on there before. I think I sold the stock steel wheels off of a Ford Ranger for like $400 once.

i would think there is someone out there in perhaps a VW that would want them on there car.... i doubt another audi owner will buy them, unless someone has a lot of curb rash and would like a cheap new set. I would think that you can get more than $400.

Put them on Craigslist Atlanta this morning and had two e-mails within the hour. List at $499 and sold at $450 cash. Went home for lunch and met the guy! Done deal, $450 in my pocket, and they won't be sitting in my attic!!!

    Sweet.

Yeah... I think my buddy has sold everything that wasn't bolted down in his house on Craigslist, with the exception of his wife and son.

$400-$500, you could always see if the local dealer would give you cash for them. It worked for me with my B6 and sport wheels.

i would have bought them for 500 if you had mentioned it 2 weeks ago... spent 500 bucks on tires alone!

That's a great result!! I currently have the same 17" wheels on my car, was debating keeping them as winter wheels when I eventually upgrade, but if I can possibly pull in around $400 for them it might offset some of the cost of new wheels.
