ehh.. It's always fun with friends, but I wouldn't be embarassed to loose to a heavily modded SRT..if they ever said anything I'd just mention the word "autocross" or whisper "bend in the road". they'd get the idea.
Re: 01 S4 RS6 built motor VS SRT4 built motor S256 Turbo
i wonder what that a3 was running to keep up with a heavily built srt4~ Also lol the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRCl2Trvyi4 made me laugh, just because i've seen this cocky kid drive a stock jetta with his gf, eyeing me funny =S he launched his jetta i gave it a bit of gas and laughed at him =P

So true. "My Grandma can race in a straight line too" is what I'd say. Followed by, "Take that corner at 75... Hell, I'll even drive you to the hospital when you wrap your car round a tree."

yeah, I've seen some pretty decked out ones as far as suspension modifications on the track before, even with 7-8k involved it's not too pretty.

Throw some race gas in there next time.

I have EPL pump gas tuning with a mbc, i was tinking on putting race gas and boost a couple more pounds, ill dyno before but my car was overboosting like 36 psi and like 11 degree of timing and they couldnt tell what was the problem, the car misfire after 5200rpms and i put 450 whp and 486 wtq, there was no boost leak so i went and bought a cheap turbox mbc and problem solved, now i only boosting 24-25psi and i guess i should be the same power, ill post the dynograph on a few mins

Where's the dyno? I want to see how soon your car makes boost. It sounds like a great daily driver set up.

AntoanS4 asked to post these for him...
Here you can see that the car starts to misfire after 5200 rpm... I have driven the car and all I can say is that it feels like a rally car, instant boost and it pulls like a freight train through all gears... it's a non-stop rush of power
Re: 01 S4 RS6 built motor VS SRT4 built motor S256 Turbo

It is subjective, but I think a 3071 is hardly big. My buddy Ian ran a bullseye s256 and he got walked on by a K04 car. Not to mention that Neon could barely pull on an A3. Not sure what that was about...

Not to thread jack, but Deb whats the time table for your build being finished?
Re: 01 S4 RS6 built motor VS SRT4 built motor S256 Turbo
sick runs, and blue angel passengers will make a diff, do the math on it and the weight of passengers in ratio to the weight of the lighter car are going to slow it down more than the weight of the same passengers in the heavier car. I'd say it makes perfect sense to level the playing field.
Re: 01 S4 RS6 built motor VS SRT4 built motor S256 Turbo
well no kidding.
a lighter car with 2 passengers vs a heavier car with 0 passengers is pretty close to equal vs what he said he was going to do
1 passenger in the lighter car and 1 in the heaver car. that makes no sense because the ratio will still be the same and the heavier car will still be at the disadvantage. considering the hp/torque is relatively the same of course.
know what im getting at now.?
maybe i missed someones comment

I get what your saying, but there is a flaw in the logic. The goal is to semi level the playing field to see what the cars can do under other circumstances isolated. To make the math easier consider car A to be 3000lbs and car B to be 4000 lbs one driver inclusive in both weighing the same. Take one 200 lb passenger and add it to each of those cars. Now car A weighs 3200lbs and car B weights 4200lbs. Same weight difference but to a different ratio nonetheless.
I totally understand what you are saying to but to see what the cars are actually capable of, it just needs to be realized that a car that starts off lighter is going to be hurt more by an extra couple hundred pounds than a heavier car with the same extra hundred pounds. In this situation, its a lighter car that had probably 500 extra pounds more than if it was just the driver in the car like was in the S4, that could make a difference.
Not to take anything away from Antoan, I've seen a lot of his videos and his car is an absolute beast, but this race is definitely worth doing again with equal passengers in both.
Re: 01 S4 RS6 built motor VS SRT4 built motor S256 Turbo
Alright, gotta put on my flame-suit here....
I had an SRT-4 prior to my A6. Stock short-block, built head, variety of turbos, etc....
Loved that car. And yes, I'll happily call it a Neon. Loved it.
The S256 is not a real fast spooling turbo on the SRT-4. Kicks ass on the top end, sounds sweet, but unless he's brake-boosting, you should pull him initially. But the cars make killer torque, and weigh less.
And for all the people saying "take a corner", yes, quattro helps the S4 handle great. But the SRT-4 has always held its own vs. Evo's and STi's in One Lap. When set up right (which, I'll admit, few SRT owners do), it's fantastic handling car.
