I can't seem to be able to finish the project.
There is always some small or large issue to sort out, before it pops out again...it is getting ridiculous.
Seems like the car wants me to leave it alone in the garage…
I have, for the 4 time, another oil leak from a different location.
Boost is still rising uncontrollable and although it feels awesome, it was be contented. Maybe I got a faulty Tial MVS since I fixed it briefly …
I tried to dyno-tune it but couldn’t because of that. Of course the popping silicone hose at the throttle didn’t help either but I got that sorted ...I was only able to dyno it up to 5500 rpm with the boost control (out of the Adaptronic 1280) off (1 bar springs in the 2 tials) and I got 390whp on a Mustang Dyno. I am not sure on what pressure that was but the Adaptronic 1280 (excellent ecu) was setup with a boost cut at 1.5bar. Of course I had a misfire issue.
I have a vacuum leak and my idle is high. I had to change the coils because I was getting misfires all the time.
The good news is that the Comp Ct43 CT3B billet spools really good for its size. I get full boost by 4400-4500 rpm (3 gear) and with the redline at 8000 rpm I get a good power band. Keep in mind that’s it’s a big , 1250hp , turbo and I am running ported 2.8 heads, oversize valves and 2.8 intake cams (for now). Spool is like a typical BT on a 1.8T 20v/2.0tfsi, and to me ,its impressive.
Also if anyone cares the 3.5 decat downpipe + 2x 3 inch is LOUD. Really loud. On the up side, the sound of the engine is beautiful. I get everyone scared, even dogs… :)
The game plan now is to get the car to a skillful and patient car mechanic so that he can iron out the bugs asap. I really need to tune the car before the 11th . We have a Audi club meeting and I want to take part with my car after 3 years.
