Yes for the FX600/FX700 but not needed for the new FX850 that is just waiting to be tested.

it should be, as new motor is 1.8T as was the old motor..... electrically they should be the same. but old motor may have had the other crank position sensor plug.

Brian: one thing you are gonna need to do is change the plug for the VSS. Kevin knows which one I have.... maybe they are the same?

its all the same, just have to connect power/ground, switched power, tach, and clutch, VSS, and clutch switch.

the VSS goes to the cluster in this car, so thats already wired in, all I have to do is tap off of it. I sent kevin an email how to wire that up, because this one is 2-pin, where as the jetta's was a 3-pin VSS...... not sure how that works?

also, for clutch stop, any info on WHERE the clutch should stop? as soon as the clutch disengages? and inch past?

    ---------------------------------

Engines in the car, everything is pretty much bolted up. Fuel line needs to be finished, coolant stuff needs to finish being connected, intercooler piping and front end..... then just have to finish wiring in the autronic... :)

that is a good question, on the clutch setup. so if/when you figure it, spill it.

and my clutch dont have the fancy "725 series" on it....

seems i was asking Kevin and he didnt for sure know on this car. but Mike should know for sure. i was gonna cut up an old 02A trans and mock it all up with a spare block so i could watch it all work and actually see where it needed to be.... but that is vw trans, although it should still give an idea anyways.

lol. Well the main worry will really be drivetrain. We'll see if it works.

So I guess you're right, not accomplished. Haha. Oh and before anyone says anything, no there's no coolant in the car.

Hahah, well the budget for this build came from parting out the jetta so it was pretty easy/quick.

There weren't many good pics cuz I was never bored enough to put down the tools and take pics, so the build thread portion got dropped a little...... but thats not my main priority so no biggie.

Ok, so what the car ended up being....

    Awp block - 1.8l
    AEB head - ported
    Clutchmasters FX700
    IE rods
Cat 3652's w/cam gear + adjustable chain(might play with this in the future to see benefits/losses)
    Supertech springs/retainers
    Bullseye S364 .70
    Tial 44
    Jay Thorton Exh mani
    3" exhaust
    T1 1000 injectors
    Autronic sm4

A lot of this stuff was short notice/last minute. I'm surprised it came togther in the mail on friday.

That's part of the IC piping. I think 2 weeks or so we might be building an AWIC core into an intake manifold. Have to do some research, but I think that might be the route I go.... depending on how the flow works out.

Also gotta finish the dual-pumps and -8 feed/-6 return before I head to the track... but thats just a day after work or so.

What kind of power do you plan on making? Is your turbo extended tip? I am not completely familiar with Borg Warner turbos, the S362 extended tip would be 65 lb/min flow like a GT35r but what is the S364? And you think that .63 turbine housing is gonna flow enough for the big power you are looking for (assuming alot since you are running dual pumps and such a big feed line)?

Yeah I had the s362 last year, and ended up stepping up to the 364. Its ETT. Dyno results from the jetta were here where we stopped at 650 cuz I liked that my engine was still together. This was on an ATP log manifold, no reason we can't step up to 700 really.

Lets say 500awhp pump, 700awhp c16 for goals.. give/take. Not really looking for numbers, I'm more of a fan of times......... but these cars weigh a ton.

Damn, a ton of power on the ATP log. Im sure that tube mani will help you quite a bit now, only problem is you have to deal with 4 wheels stealing your power But then again they will put it all to the ground. Were you using the 3652 cams for that dyno? And I assume C16 for that run and what kind of boost?

Yeah.... I switched to 4 wheels cuz I'd like to have fun on the street. that was not possible in the jetta even on teh 18psi pump setup. Yes on the 3652's and C16, and 34.xxxxxxxx whatever psi.

I assume the lower power on that graph was a pump gas run at lower boost? And to be clear that dyno was on the S362 or the S364? I think you were saying this was with the S364 that you switched to but not sure. I can't believe that kind of power can be made with a .63 a/r turbine housing, but I guess that is FWD power too, but still, that is quite a bit.

it was s364, and the pump run was 18.5psi as it showed up to the dyno, on 93.

    Eff I mistyped. Stupid me. .70 housing. Bullseye doesn't do a .63.

17* max advance on pump and 18.5 max on c16. I guess I tried to tell people I wasn't really screwing around.... haha.

Hmm.. that isn't anything crazy. I have a target timing of 21 degrees on "pump" setup which includes meth injection. I typically see around 14-19 degrees. I think I need to sell my turbo and get a 35r just don't know if I would want .63 or .82, my 3076 is .63, that .70 is a perfect happy medium, maybe I need to get a S362 instead

How does the turbo length (front to back) compare to a Garrett turbo? Like the GT35r and the 362. The bullseye are quite a bit longer arent they? It would suck having to redo my downpipe.

How does the turbo length (front to back) compare to a Garrett turbo? Like the GT35r and the 362. The bullseye are quite a bit longer arent they? It would suck having to redo my downpipe.
My bullseye and the 60-trim I had before are the EXACT same dimensions on the exhaust side(v-band outlet vs. t3 inlet location) -- the cold side I coudln't tell you, its a bit longer tahn the 60-trim, but I never really measured up against this 35r.

Well that is good to know, I guess I would just need to run a filter like your are instead of having a 90 off the turbo then a filter down lower since the 90 probably wouldn't fit since it already is a tight fit with this turbo.

Did you ever dyno with your S362? How much difference between the two turbos? I was looking on the bullseye turbo list on their site and didn't even see S364 listed. It went from 362 to 366 for the compressor maps they had shown.

yeah, my K&N actually fits ALL the way on teh turbo, this one just kinda slides on halfway... as it sits in these pics it doesn't clear the headlight at all, but I'm hoping once I clean up the K&N and drop it on it will clear more at least..... I'll prob still have to shave the light a ton, but every little bit of room saved counts for something.

nah, never did...... and you gotta ask for the 364... I had to wait a few weeks for a new batch of 64 wheels to come in as they didn't readily have them in stock.

Crap, well I have a B6 though so not even sure what the difference would be if any from the inlet of the turbo to whatever it would hit in front. I have a friend with a B5 though so I will just have to measure mine and his and see if there is a difference. Hopefully I will get lucky and the B6 will have more room. I have xenon headlights also, I don't know if the housing are bigger or not. I will get with him tomorrow and do some measuring.

    Re: The luxury of AWD

David, this is for your answer. this is a 366XL and a 35R side by side. you guess which is which, since you want to know. and the 364/366 are very close to the same size. BAMFT zone, friends..... 366XL is T4 though, the S364 Brian has is almost the biggest T3 they offer. there is now another custom one, AX368 which is T3...

Brian, not steppin on ya thread, but its cool that i did take those pix so people see actually the real size differences... and the valves? what you end up with there? i know we talked about it, and why..... but i think i know your answer to both, just confirming.

JESUS That thing is massive. That turbine housing is like the size of the 35r compressor housing! What a/r is that thing?

wow dude. so impressed with how fast you put this together, and how clean it is.
    can't wait for some numbers.
i've heard mixed opinions on awic's, especially for street duty -- the general concensus I see is that air/air is better for a street car
